Getting rid of large lumps after Juvederm injections? (Photos)

7 days post OP Juviderm filler in lower lip very uneven and showing through skin on outter and inner portion of lip upon smiling with a blue tint. At no time during the procedure did they have me smile. As soon as I got in my car I noticed but thought it might even out Is there any chance that this large of an amount could even out over the next week. Thank you for your time!

This can be typical after lip fillers. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

Thank you for your question. It is common to have some asymmetrical swelling following fillers for lip augmentation which can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. You can apply cold compresses to the area to help reduce swelling. It is also advisable to avoid any NSAID’s before and after treatment as they tend to thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising and swelling. If you have any other concerns please follow up with your injector. Best of Luck!

Swelling can persist up to two weeks after lip injections.  In the meantime you can gently massage the area to help them smooth out.  If after two weeks you still have concerns, return to your injector for an evaluation.  The product can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if necessary.

I do not have my patients smile during lip augmentation also. It is not necessary. You do have a lump in your lower lip and I would finger roll massage it a few times daily for the next few days and see if there's any Improvement. After an additional one week, if there's no improvement I would follow up with your treating physician. Good luck from New York City
