I'm not sure if that's what it would be called. But why is it that some women a few years after a beautiful explant result randomly develop scar tissue that distorts the breast? Is there a way to avoid this?

Answer: Explant hopefully will clear things up Thanks for your question. I have not had issues with patients developing strange scar tissue years out from their implant removal. We do have people massage the breasts afterward once things have had time to heal (usu a few weeks)

Answer: Scarring after implant removal Breast shape can definitely change after implant removal. The capsule that forms around the implant can be removed. However, sometimes the most adherent part on the ribs may not be able to be removed safely and is appropriate to leave in place. You can form fluid or seroma after explantation which can have a new capsule formation. This would best be discussed in person with your surgeon to determine what procedure if any would help improve the shape of your breasts.
