You should discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Only they can advise you about your particular situation. In general, a bandeau will be slightly uncomfortable, but pain is unusual.
Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. The question regarding the use of bras is surprisingly common on this website; there is no “standard” when it comes to the use of specific bras or garments after breast surgery. In other words, different plastic surgeons may have different practices when it comes to postoperative dressings/bras. Therefore, best to check with your plastic surgeon. For example, in my practice, patients wake up with a surgical bra in place. This surgical bra, although not attractive, is supportive and used for about one month after surgery (some of my patients have been known to burn the bra ASAP). Then, patients transition to a soft sports bra. Wired bras are used when breast implants have reached their “final position” and patients have full sensation along the breast skin. Best wishes; hopefully, you will be very pleased with the longer-term outcome of the procedure performed.
Yes, it is safe to wear a bandeau bra at four weeks postbreast-augmentation, provided there is no underwire in the bra. You likelydidn’t negatively impact the results of your surgery. Rather, the bandeau couldhave been just too tight. Talk with your plastic surgeon for guidance.Karen Singer, M.D., P.A.Harvard GraduateBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon
For the first 6 weeks I prefer my patients to wear a comfortable well supporting bra. While I doubt you did any permanent damage to the breast implant or augmentation result it may be best to go back to a more suitable bra for now.
You should be directing your questions to your plastic surgeon. She/he is the person to whom yo entrusted your care and knows you best. Give the office a call and I am sure they will hep you.
I do not usually have patiens wear bandeau bras to push down the breasts or to keep them up. Best to ask your surgeon.
As long as you have a secure closure, a bandeau right after surgery works well for my patients. At 4 weeks out, you may be using it to help lower the implant into redundant breast. A capsule is starting to form, so some discomfort would not be a surprise. I would discuss your positioning goals with your surgeon.
Four weeks after breast augmentation it should be quite safe to wear any bra or none at all. It seems unlikely that your bra could cause a set back.
Thank you for your question. If the bra is causing her discomfort at 4 weeks after breast augmentation I personally would not be wear it. It is important to keep the breast implants freely movable during your recovery. Of course he should ask your plastic surgeon.
It might be too early to consider a breast revision at this point in your recovery. I usually tell my patients that you are about 85% of the way to your final result in 3 months and achieve it by one year. Your final results following a breast augmentation are mostly present;...
Thank you for your question. Your result looks excellent this early after surgery.Understand that the implants are spread out over your chest this early and has the implant drops and fills the lower pole of the breast they should look certainly more natural and possibly fuller.
Thank you for your picture. I agree that a lift is necessary a 500 mL gel implant is appropriate. I agree that a larger implant place will make it difficult to perform a lift. After surgery is hard to determine what cup size you will be. There's no way to predict that going in or to tell that...
