Having Juvederm while having braces should be fine, and I've had many patients undergo treatment without problem.
It is perfectly safe to have juvederm injections while having braces. Your lips will likely be tender and swollen after Juvederm so i would avoid a dental appointment during that week.
Juvederm injections should be safe if you have braces as long as you mention it to both your orthodontist and physician that is treating you with Juvederm.
It is completely safe having a filler injected while having braces, there is no effects aside from possible swelling and/or bruising
In general, it is safe to have Juvederm injections when you have braces or even invisalign. However, if the Juvederm is to be injected in the lips versus the nasolabial folds or elsewhere, the swelling may cause some irritation to the inner portion of the lips until the swelling subsides. That is, the inner lip and braces may temporarily rub against each other. To prevent the possible irritation, have some some dental wax on hand to cover the braces next to the lips areas being injected. Most orthodontist offices will provide dental wax to cover the braces to protect the lips, not necessarily for Juvederm injections but for common inner lip irritations from braces, sometimes seen with regular eating and other activities.I hope this helps.
There is no contraindication to having treatment with Juvederm while you have braces. I would recommend choosing a board certified dermatologist, plastic surgeon, or facial plastic surgeon to perform your injections. Each is a fantastic choice. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
Wearing braces does not increase your risk of complications and is not a contraindication to facial fillers. The fillers may actually be helpful for patients that are not pleased with the appearance of the face with the braces in place. The fillers can be used to restore balance to the face during the temporary time period while the braces are being worn.
There is no reason to hold off on having fillers while you wear braces. A lot more adults are opting for braces these days - many of them in their 50's and 60's! A little filler or Botox to help you look a bit better is a nice way to counteract the probably downer that comes with having appliances on your teeth.Stay with the dis-solvable gels like Juvederm. Braces can alter the facial contours (either temporarily or permanently) so you want to be able to make adjustments to filler placement after they're removed if needed.
Hi Elena. Juvederm should not interfere with braces and vice versa. Juvederm is injected into the dermis and this does not interfere with the braces inside the mouth. See photos of LA based Juvederm before and after pictures on our site below.
There is no contraindication in injecting any dermal filler including juvederm in a person with braces. I would not have any dental manipulation within 1 week of injecting a filler.
I recommend that you do not massage the filler as you do not want to press too hard and/or move the filler into the wrong place. Lumps and bumps usually resolve on their own, once the filler starts to get incorporated with your own skin tissue. It would be best if you book a follow up...
Products used for filling are temporary as it is. Most of the product after a year will be dissolved. Therefore, you can get the product now to help with your marionette lines and then have another treatment in a year anyway. The choice is yours. If you lose a large amount of volume in your face...
Where did you have the Juvederm injected? If you had the product injected in your face, it is highly unlikely the product migrated to your neck. If you did have product injected in your neck, it is likely It is product or swelling. Swelling is common with injections and can take 2 weeks to...
