The first fee sounds really low. The cost without the surgeon's fee ( anesthesia, staff, supplies, facility) probably runs $3-4K alone. Be careful when you start "shopping" for low prices, you might end up paying more in the long run if it doesn't come out to your satisfaction.

This is a hard question to answer ---All those ranges are possible in your area. But you need to do your homework finding out exactly what each surgeon plans to do [ie. where and how the incisions lie, extent of operation, what will be the anticipated result of lift etc ]  and how he plans to do it [local anesthesia, general etc].. Are there other costs such as facility or hospital fees/anesthesia fees that weren't discussed?  What is the experience, credentials and certifications of each as well as their malpractice history.  Ask for references of patients who have had similar procedure done.  Remember that sometimes going the 'cheap' route may be expensive in the long run---on the other side of the coin don't be disillusioned by the fact that just because you pay more, you will get a better result. I can't tell you how many times I have heard in my 40 year career --"Dr. X --he's the best --he charges so much"-- with terrible results.   It's all nonsense and don't buy into it.   Your decision should be an intelligent one made not on price but on being a good consumer-  facts, information and lastly your feeling of trust in selecting the right surgeon for you.

 Hi, I have performed facelifts for over 30 years and have performed many minimally, invasive type facelifts.  Non smiling photos of your face from the front and side would help in the evaluation and might explain the significant range in prices that you are getting.  





 Following the beauty principles outlined in my book on face and body beauty, women look the most feminine, youthful and attractive with heart shaped faces.  Heart shaped faces have cheeks that are full and round in the front.  Cheek augmentation with a dermal filler or using cheek implants for a permanent enhancement will create full, round cheeks that will feminize the entire face.







 When the chin is weak, this creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin.  Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face.   I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick and highly effective.







 If you have "jowls” these are sagging facial tissues and an indication for some form of a SMAS facelift.  The underlying SMAS layer, of the face, must be dissected, lifted, trimmed and re-sutured (not merely folded or suspended with threads or sutures that will not last).  The excess skin is then removed and the facelift incisions closed.

It is impossible to state what a minilift is.   Certainly it is different with each doctor.   Some offices will simply take a little skin and sew it up and call it a minilift.   Others will do something productive but less than a standard facelift and call it a minilift.   Generally a minilift doesn't do very much.   I tell patients that minilifts are mini procedures that only satisfy patients with MINI Expectations.    A full standard facelift is a procedure  that gets results when done well.   Minilifts produce mini changes and are not well received by those with logical expectations.   Get multiple consultations with 3 or 4 ABPS Surgeons and really try to understand what is being offered.   Do your homework and research before scheduling surgery.   Never be impulsive and never base decisions on price.    The lowest price can be very expensive if you get a zero result.    It is your face.  You have to live with it for the rest of your life.   Research carefully and choose a well qualified surgeon who operates only in well certified operating rooms and with excellent anesthesia.    Don't rush into anything,   There is no rush.  My Best,   Dr Commons

I'd be concerned that you need to investigate the exact nature of the "mini" face lift as well as the doctors' experience and reputation (and certification).  Those prices are very very low and wouldn't cover the cost of anesthesia and the OR in my office.  Having a low price is appealing, however you need to do your homework to find out how safe is the facility, what the surgeon's local reputation is (not just amongst his office staff) and how long you can expect the results of the procedure to last.  A properly performed facelift should last for about 10-12 years and not need revision after only two to three years have passed.  There are large differences between "facelifts."  Good luck on your journey!Jon A Perlman MD FACS
