Mini Face Lift at 21, is there any drawback to having surgery at this age? (photos)

A #facelift is a surgical procedure designed to smooth and remove  major folds, wrinkles and excess skin around the #neck and #jawline; which form on our faces with age. Gravity, sun damage, smoking, living in a dry climate, and a variety of factors contribute to the aging process of our faces. The best candidates for facelifts such as #LiteLift are patients 35-60 years old with early changes of the lower face and the neck.It is important to understand that facelifts are not intended to remove fine wrinkles. A facelift which removes every line and fold would be too aggressive resulting in an unnatural result. Fine lines and #wrinkles are better addressed by non-invasive skin treatments such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion, which we also offer at our office. At this point and your age, you may not be a #facelift candidate. However, there are many other cosmetic options to accomodate your goals at your age all while providing great results. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon or their licensed esthetic staff to learn more about treatments best for you.

I feel you are just too young to be considering even a mini lift.  You should seek consultation with a reputable facial rejuvenation specialist who may be able to guide you so either some of the non-surgical options or something else that may address some of the other issues that may be contributing to your  problems.

I would try fillers and noninvasive tightening procedures such as ultherapy first before committing to a facelift. That being said, a consultation would be beneficial to say for sure. 

I would certainly not recommend nor encourage a facelift at your age.  Jowls and tightening of loose skin are not evident from what I can see, which is typically a visible issue for women or men seeking a facelift procedure.  Your skin is still young and full of collagen but if you would like to improve your appearance, you could consider filler which may very well give you the the appearance you are looking for.  There a various types of filler which serve different purposes and are extremely effective if used properly.  I would suggest you speak to a Plastic Surgeon or a Dermatologist who specializes in facial injections, to best guide you.  I would also suggest you research injectable fillers to better educate yourself as well.  Hope this helps and good luck.Dr. Philip Solomon

While I am definitely of the opinion that age itself should not determine whether or not a facelift should be done, I would like to think that there are other options for you at age 21 that would achieve your goals without surgery. You really need to see a specialist in facelift surgery who hopefully will be honest with you.Good luck.

I'd have to personally examine you to be sure, but I'd be exceptionally surprised if you would need a mini facelift at age 21. I'd recommend you see someone that specializes in facial rejuvenation and can discuss all aspects of rejuvenation procedures including filler. Adding volume to the lower eyelids, cheeks, brows, and along each side of the chin could do wonders. Hello,Thanks for your question. I would not recommend a mini-facelift for you at this time. A variety of facial fillers could eliminate ore improve many of your concerns. A "liquid facelift" using various fillers is feasible. You might also benefit from some non-invasive laser or radio-frequency treatments. Be sure to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Thank you for your question and pictures, 21 years of age is very young to have a facelift, therefore I would definitely suggest seeking non-surgical options first.  Dermal Fillers would be a good route, maybe placing in cheeks giving more volume to the face.  Please make sure you find a reputable and qualified plastic surgeon who can assess you properly to give you a realistic idea of what outcome you can achieve.  All The Best
