I got lip filler about three months ago and would really love a lip piercing. Is it possible to do this with current lip filler?
Answer: Navigating Lip Enhancements: Can You Safely Combine Lip Fillers and Piercings? When considering a lip piercing after having lip fillers, it's important to take into account a few factors to ensure safety and optimal results: Healing Time: Since you had lip fillers three months ago, your lips should have settled, but it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider or the professional who administered your fillers to confirm that your lips are fully healed and ready for a piercing. Piercing Placement: The location of the piercing in relation to where the filler was injected is crucial. A professional piercer with experience in working with clients who have had fillers can help ensure that the piercing is placed safely and aesthetically. Potential Risks: Be aware of the potential for increased swelling or bruising due to the presence of filler. Discuss these risks with both your piercer and healthcare provider. Consultation: Before proceeding, have a consultation with a reputable piercer who has experience with clients who have had lip fillers. They can provide personalized advice and assess whether a piercing is suitable for you. By taking these precautions, you can make an informed decision about getting a lip piercing after having lip fillers.

Answer: Lip piercing with fillers At three months, much of your filler has most likely dissipated. I see no reason why you can’t pierce your lip but I suggest you ask your provider if you want their opinion. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
