How long till love handles are gone from lipo?

You should expect some changes from the first couple weeks to the last week in terms of swelling reduction.  The final results should take 3-6 months.  I would consider discussing with your plastic surgeon how much more swelling reduction you might be able to expect.

You should see a noticeable difference immediately but the final results take 3-6 months.  I suggest speaking to your doctor if you don't notice much of a difference or if you are concerned with the results.  Best, Dr. Emer.

We tell our patients it takes up to 3 months for your swelling to go away.  If you submit before and after photos that would be more helpful.  

Whereas there is still swelling after liposuction at five weeks there should be some definite visible improvement. You probably ought to visit your plastic surgeon.

common after any type of cosmetic surgery or invasive procedure. The majority
of “swelling” usually dissipates by 6 weeks.There are several ways to minimize swelling,
including limiting your exercise, wearing your compression garment effectively
and adhering to a high protein diet which benefits the healing process. In some
cases, lymphatic massage may be beneficial. Please follow up with your board-certified
plastic surgeon.

The benefits of liposuction may take many months to appear. When an area which had previously been suctioned is opened (in an unrelated surgery), it is easy to see that the fat is still re-organizing and healing even up to a year after liposuction. This is why it is important not to re-suction for at least 12 months. I have seen many cases where the patient pushed hard for the doctor the re-suction a few months after the original liposuction, and the doctor agreed with very poor results. It takes time to heal fully.

We tell our patients that they will see some results by one month, but to allow a full 2 months before the final shape sets in.  If a patient had a lot of swelling or bruising after surgery , then 3 months may be more realistic. Keep your surgeon apprised of all concerns. Best wishes.
