Peau d'orange, or the skin of the orange, is a dimpling of the skin over the chin that can easily be relaxed with Botox, and only a small amount of units is needed. There are risks with all cosmetic treatments so see a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. The treatment will need to be repeated every four months or so.The information provided in Dr. Shelton's answer is for educational purposes only and is not intended to constitute medical advice. Often a combination approach will produce the best results. I would recommend some botox to the mentalis muscle to relax the chin and then consideration for a chin implant to produce an improved jaw. texture problems of the skin can be improved with microneedling, PRP, and chemical peels.
Thank you for your pictures and questions. I am going to disagree with a couple of the answers posted on here which have listed things that you absolutely do not need. Dr. Sieber and Dr. Dorner have taken the time to review your questions and pictures and they have provided the right answer rather than providing some canned cut and paste response. The issues you are having is from overactivity of the muscle of the chin (mentalis) and you are the textbook case for treatment with Botox. Make sure you see an experienced injector for this treatment.Best of luck!
This can be improved with a combination of fillers, lasers, microneedling/prp and peels. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear thechingirl:Looking at your photo, I would recommend Botox to relax your over active mentalis muscle on your chin and thus even out your "divots." Best wishes.
