I wanted to wait u til I was completely healed before doing my review. I am currently 12 weeks post op of my breast augmentation with Dr Dorner, and I am ecstatic with my results and with the entire dorner staff as a whole. From the moment I scheduled my consultation, through my surgery and post op, everyone was amazing. My surgery consultant walked me through the entire process, while making sure I made the right decisions. She answered my calls and emails quickly, and I never felt like an inconvenience. Dorner was great, I met with him multiple times, he was always honest and professional. You can tell he genuinely cares for his patients. The day of surgery, I felt at ease, and never questioned my decision. He even called me the night of surgery to make sure I was feeling okay! I can say I had a previous surgery from another surgeon, and this experience was the complete opposite and made me realize there are good doctors out there, and your outcome is dependent on this! I would recommend Dr Dorner and his practice to anyone, 12/10 experience and bedside manner. If you are thinking abou
Dr. Dorner gave me exactly what I wanted. He helped me along the process, and answered any and all questions or concerns myself and husband had. After breastfeeding 5 kids I was left with just skin and I wanted a very natural look and that exactly what I got. Staff was always friendly and I felt comfortable through the whole process!
Every woman deserves to be happy, feel the essence of beauty from hair to toenails. Age should not define the physical completeness and happiness of a woman. Recently, I had a beautiful, life changing transformation experience with Dr. Brian Dorner and his great crew of staff. The ladies are professional, helpful, encouraging, and uplift your spirit if you're doubtful of your procedure. The structure itself is inviting, adorned with the perfect shade of blue color, and windows overlooking a serene, clean ever flowing stream. That in itself, will quieten your mood and demeanor. I am a witness to Dr. Dorner's expertise. The surgery went well, successful and I am pleased with the outcome. I like what I see in the mirror, I walk differently. I had confidence prior to this beautiful procedure but it's a notch higher now. There's a consciousness of new and stronger me, which I love. And the icing of it all. which I am grateful for, I was referred to a financier called the Alpheon credit card. I did not have most of the fund, but their suggestion was exactly what I needed. I had the mind, the drive, the will. Dollar did not stop me and thanks to the ladies at Dorner Plastic Surgery, especially Lady Dina. Every lady there is so special in their respective right and position. Please stop waiting, go on and make that move. You are not old, it is the right time. You've waited for too long. You deserve to be happy, embrace your beauty and self, before others acknowledge you. You are a beauty, yes you are and the only place you can get a warm, professional, pleased procedure carried out is at Dorner Plastic Surgery, Columbus Ohio.
Writing this as of 3 weeks post op. Will update further out. Dr. Dorner was like my 4th or 5th consult for brachioplasty. I researched surgeons and the procedure itself extensively. Probably too much. But I’m glad I went for that one last consult before deciding. I had already booked with another surgeon when I went to see dr Dorner. And I was torn leaving my consult with him on which doctor to go with. Dr. Dorner goes into the armpit and the other doctor does not. The other doctor mentioned aggressive lipo and Dr. Dorner said he would lipo as needed but would just be cutting it off. Price:This is my first category but not top priority. Dr. Dorner is the cheapest in Columbus and from my search, all of Ohio for this procedure. I figure this will change when he realizes he is under charging, but I also think making it affordable to more people will keep his surgery schedule full vs somewhere like CAPS that charges FIVE THOUSAND MORE for the same procedure making it only available to a small percentage of the population. Office staff and Environment The staff is top notch. I love Dina! She worked with me so much when I was trying to figure out my financing. I know I was a pain in the butt. I had alpheon but it got canceled and they wouldn’t reopen it. She was so so patient while I figured out another way to fund my surgery. She was very good at returning emails and reassuring me. The nursing staff is great. Very professional and knowledgeable. The girls at the front desk are very sweet and knowledgeable about the skin care products which I appreciate. His office is clean and relaxing. He even has a little wet bar area set up. I really appreciate that he uses real robes and not paper sheets! Dr. Dorner/ The results! He is a perfectionist. Like I didn’t pick this up about him the first time I met him. Dina mentioned it. Boy was she right! He really comes up with the perfect plan based on your body and sets realistic expectations. I HATED MY ELBOW CUFF! Like seriously it was so bad even after losing weight. A lot of surgeons are not good at revising this area. He does amazing. My elbow is normal! I’ve never had normal elbows! The scar: obviously the scariest part of this procedure is the scar. I can’t speak to how mine will look when healed and it’s still covered in tape. But let me tell ya, the scar placement is the best I’ve seen. Like you can only see a very small portion of the scar when my arms are down. And it never really restricted my movement. I’ve seen women talk about needing to sleep in a recliner for weeks after this surgery. I slept in my bed the first night and I’ve really not had any issues. When I woke up from surgery I asked if he did lipo. He said no it wasn’t needed. I kinda freaked out because all my other consults said that it was needed. But lipo comes with its own set of issues so the fact that he gave me the results he did without using lipo is amazing. If my arms were any smaller they would not match my forearms or the rest of my body. This is why having a perfectionist do this type of surgery is critical! This next part is what really sets him apart from others. His after care is top notch! He called me on a Saturday to make sure my hand swelling (super common after this) had gone down. If you call after hours it rings straight to him. And he never seems annoyed or put out. I got my tummy tuck done by another Columbus surgeon and his aftercare was the worst, which honestly made recovery much harder. There are probably things I’m missing here and I’ll update as I remember. Plus I still don’t know what my final results will be because it’s just too soon. But at least go for a consult. Even if you’ve already done a dozens consults. I had honestly planned to go to Miami or Mexico for a BBL and Breast augmentation but now I’ll just wait an extra year or two to save up for Dr. Dorner. It’s just not worth the gamble when I already know how amazing him and his office staff are.
If you've read my first procedure review, you know what's happening. If not, I'll give a brief synopsis for you. Back in 2016; I worked my a** off, literally. After losing 90 pounds I was left with stubborn belly fat and saggy skin around my abdomen. It was really affecting me and my view of my body. I worked extremely hard and felt I had nothing to show for it. Enter in, Dr. Dorner.I had my tummy tuck with muscle repair and liposuction done in September of 2016. 12 weeks into recovery..........Pregnant.I was extremely worried. I had just had this major abdominal surgery and now it was going to be undone; would it be okay for the baby, is it going to be too tight, would there be any complications? I had an amazing OB/GYN and it turned out her brother is a plastic surgeon. She said that she has had several patients that have had a tummy tuck and then had babies, with little complications, although they hadn't been as soon after.Long story short, everything turned out fine. I was fine, baby was fine (although she was breech and we couldn't get her to turn - no matter how hard we tried) and she was born in August of 2017.During my pregnancy I gained about 29 pounds. After my pregnancy, I gained additional weight. You know....new baby, whatever sleep I could get, nursing..these things took priority. I have managed to lose 23 pounds. So that's great, but it hasn't been lost from where I want. I've been trying hard, not as hard as before but still hard and the fats just not budging.I saw Dr. Dorner today for a consultation; after looking at the areas around my hips, he agreed and said he could perform liposuction with no issues. He did ask if I had had any drastic weight loss prior to my tummy tuck because I have more skin than he'd expect for someone who gained a small amount during pregnancy. I can't fault him for asking, I doubt he remembers my previous history, so I said yes. He briefly mentioned a posterior body tuck which I guess is like a tummy tuck for the backside. No thanks. Just the lipo please. I can live with my cellulite and not have to finance a down payment on a house. The quote was less than I imagined so I'm fairly certain this is going to happen. Just have to plan when; it looks like it will be shortly before mother's day, he's good at what he does and books out pretty far, plus it'll be my gift to myself. Updated on 10 Mar 2020: Adding some photos. Dr. D is booked out pretty far and with work it looks like the end of May is going to be when this will happen. Primarily, it's the areas on my hips and outer thighs on both sides that's bothering me. There's no chance I'm doing a posterior body lift. I will continue to work on my fitness but these areas just aren't budging. Updated on 27 Mar 2020: Rightfully so, my procedure will be postponed at this time. Dr. Dorner has closed his office through the pandemic and I don't know when he is reopening or when I can schedule. It was looking like the end of May initially, so we'll see. I'm in no rush and I am happy that he is not jeopardizing his health or the health of others by staying open during all of this. In the meantime, I have posted a photo that was requested of which areas I am getting worked on. All I really want are my smooth hips and thighs back from pre pregnancy. I've lost almost all of the baby weight I was carrying around but these pockets just won't budge. Until next time, stay safe and healthy! Updated on 4 Feb 2021: My procedure was booked today for Tuesday February 16th! I'll do a pre op visit February 10th and go from there. Here's to great results, which I have no doubt will happen. Especially with Dr. Dorner doing it. Updated on 15 Feb 2021: It's the night before my procedure and we are in the midst of a snow storm. The forecast calls for 8 to 12" of snow. Yes. 8 to 12". Of snow. We'll see how much we actually get but it is pretty gross outside right now. I believed that I'd be done in the afternoon since the longer procedures go first but when I got my call today, they said I'm scheduled at 9:45. They asked me to be there at 9am, which means I have to get up and shower at 7am. I'll have to post some pictures tomorrow of the "before" stuff. I'm definitely slacking this time around in terms of updates but I have a 3 year old, enough said. Updated on 16 Feb 2021: My liposuction procedure was performed today! Luckily, we didn't get as much snow as predicted (shocker) so getting there wasn't bad. I was oddly nervous this time, I'm not sure why. I was also so very hungry and had to take all my pre-op medicine on an empty stomach. The pre-op medicine was different than 2016; I was instructed to take 2 extra strength Tylenol, 2 Gabapentin and 1 Meloxicam. In 2016 I had a terrible reaction to Percocet which landed me in the hospital with a dangerously low blood pressure (50/20). So Dr. Dorner prescribed Tramadol for post-op pain. I have to say, I thoroughly enjoy his staff. They are so welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk to. I wish I had gotten the name of my nurse, she was sweet and so funny. We joked about me being a difficult stick for IV placement and had a good laugh. My post op nurse was lovely too, accommodating and nice, we chatted about my kiddo during discharge. Honestly....... this wasn't bad. My procedure started promptly on time at 9:45 am, I was groggyily alert at 10 til 11 am. Pain was mild, I think I told the nurse it was a 3/10. She took my vitals and asked what I'd like to drink. When she came back she was kind enough to hold the cup for me. After about 40 minutes, she said I could get dressed and I heard her call my boyfriend and tell him I'd be discharged at noon. She offered to help dress me but there was no need. The liposuction was on both hips, a little around the top of my butt, and both outer thighs. When I woke up I had a Spanx type compression short on. Sitting up, dressing, standing, walking, and getting in/out of the car was not difficult. I made it back home around 1 pm and sat on the couch which wasn't hard. However, the first time I had to go to the bathroom and roll those shorts down.....that sucked. It's about 9:30 pm now, I have taken a few Tramadol through the day but nothing else. I'm not in much pain at all. My outer thighs are numb, my hips are only slightly painful (that's where my incisions are), and my upper butt does not hurt. I'm assuming they were numbed with something so I'm curious what tomorrow will be like. The bruising has started mildly but I anticipate it to worsen. No bruising on my outer thighs but on my hips there are some patches. My thighs are ridiculously swollen already. I ordered an additional compression short from Amazon, the one I have on already has 2 holes in it. So that should be here tomorrow. I'm also happy to report that there are no drains! I was told this could be a possibility and I remember how much it sucked with my tummy tuck. No thanks. Tomorrow I will post my morning of pictures and 1 day post op pictures. I imagine this review will not be nearly as long as my last one but that's because recovery is expected to be much shorter! Good night reader! Updated on 19 Feb 2021: I wrote a review yesterday but when I went to edit a photo to upload, it all disappeared. That was very annoying (take note admins!) So I didn't rewrite it. Yesterday was rough! I was extremely sore in the morning. Primarily on the backs of my thighs, which is weird because he didn't do anything to them. I assume because he disrupted the outer portion, it caused soreness in the back. My hips feel completely fine. The only pain I experience is when I have to pull the compression shorts up over them. The areas do look good, I have lost feeling on the left side though. Hopefully that's just from the swelling and it will come back. I've already got permanent loss of sensation in the area around and below my belly button from my tummy tuck. My thighs however..the left one is hard as a rock where he did the liposuction. The nurse said that is normal, its also bigger than my right side, which she said is normal too. I was told as long as the skin isn't rippled (which would indicate fluid) and the area isn't 3 or 4 times bigger, not to worry. I can take a shower today, I'm excited for that! There is some additional bruising but nothing severe. I've been taking Gabapentin twice daily, Tramadol every 4 hours, Meloxicam once daily and a Zyrtec once daily to reduce swelling. Everything is becoming itchy, I'm not sure if that's the freezing cold weather drying my skin out or from the procedure. My left thigh was spasming like no ones business last night. I will post some pictures, be warned, they are not pretty! Updated on 19 Feb 2021: Here's a few before pictures..I primarily wanted to focus on my hips and the saddle bags on my thighs. Oddly enough there is more fat on my left side than my right side so he was planning on going a little further on this leg. Updated on 19 Feb 2021: The day after the lipo (2/17) I was ridiculously sore. It was very painful to get the compression shorts up when I would go to the bathroom. They also appear to be pretty cheap, they've ripped in a few places. Updated on 19 Feb 2021: Ahhhh it felt so good to finally shower! It didn't upload the previous pictures for some reason but I took some new ones anyway and nothing has really changed. Honestly, I am disappointed right now. My thighs look terrible and it doesn't really look like I had liposuction at all. I tried to switch from my compression garment to Spanx with no luck. It was way to painful to try to pull them up, so I quit trying and put my original ones back on. I sure hope I see some changes here soon because right now, I am not happy. Updated on 20 Feb 2021: I'm 4 dpo, bruising has gotten worse but that's not the weird part. The weird part is the muscle spasms and itching which is impossible to relieve because I can't feel anything when I scratch it! There's a large area around my incisions on the left hip and where I had liposuction on my left thigh that is completely numb. I don't know if it's because of the nerves or the swelling but yeah, completely numb. I've only taken pain medication twice today, once when I got up at 7:45 and sometime this afternoon around 1 or 2. I'm continuing to take the Meloxicam for inflammation and Gabapentin for the nerves. As far as I can see the swelling has not gone down. I'm still not very happy and have my post-op appointment on Monday. Updated on 22 Feb 2021: Wow. It changes dramatically from day to day. I am 6 dpo and very, very bruised. Yesterday I went out and walked for about an hour or 2, it went well but I was pretty sore later that night. Today I went walking for around the same amount of time, again it went well but I am pretty sore now. I did see Dr. Dorner today and asked him what was up with my thighs, they still look "big" and if it weren't for the bruising I wouldn't know he had done anything. He said they are very swollen and he expects that they will look better when the swelling goes down. He recommended I continue to wear the compression shorts and wants to see me back in 4 weeks. I've been released to resume my normal activities. I've added a photo of me dressed, in it I have on 3 layers. My underwear, compression shorts and yoga pants. Note that there isn't much of a difference between it and my before pictures. Dr. Dorner said he removed almost a liter...but I don't know where from. Updated on 22 Feb 2021: It said my picture was too big to upload so I had to tweak it. Again, this is me from the front with 3 layers on. My underwear, compression shorts and yoga pants. I'm hoping that when the swelling goes down, it will look smoother down my thighs. Updated on 27 Feb 2021: The bruising is starting to go away and the swelling is going down very slooooooooowly. I saw Dr. Dorner and he said the fat after liposuction tends to settle at the bottom so it should continue to go down more over the next month. I'll see him again at the end of March. I'm off medicine and still wear compression shorts, I've tried to go without them but it's too uncomfortable. Updated on 7 Mar 2021: To see the benefit. There's definitely a change in my hips. The bruising is going away and I can see a change in my thighs. I am slightly worried about my right leg and how it looks right now. They're still sore and I can't lay on my sides when I go to bed which has made it somewhat difficult to stay asleep at night. I'll add some newer pictures, had to replace the compression shorts, they ripped right in the middle lol Updated on 3 May 2021: That's my final decision. It's not worth it. Maybe I'm being impatient, apparently it can take as long as 6 months to see liposuction results?!?? If I had known that, I would have saved the $$$ and the pain of doing this. You have to assume that there wasn't much change anyway if the person taking my "after" photos has to ask me what I had done. Not much, I guess. Now we are talking about doing more, but not under general anesthesia. Just a local with the option of nitrous and oxygen. I'm not sure what I should do and kind of feel like that won't be worth it either. Pictures speak a thousand words. Which is a shame because I'm a walking billboard for the abdominoplasty.
I had my BA back in April of this year. I had a few consults with other doctors and happened to find Dr. Dorner on Instagram. I did my research and decided to do a consult with him. His staff was absolutely amazing and very helpful. Dr. Dorner made me feel comfortable and listened and reassured all questions I had. Lisa called to set up the consult and got me in that day. The day of surgery I was a super nervous since I had never had any type of surgery before. The nurse helped keep me calm and relaxed the whole time. Almost 6 months later and I am loving my results. I would give more stars if I could!
27 years old. 2 Children. Breastfeeding. 70lb weight loss. My result, breasts somewhere between 12 year old boy and 72 year old woman. Currently, I’m 135lbs and 5’8”. My breasts have been “deflated” for a long time. I wasn’t sure if I needed Augmentation and a lift. After talking to my surgeon I decided on 750CC UHP over the muscle. Updated on 23 Jun 2019: Lots of swelling present with some bruising. I do use ice packs. Range of motion is still minimal but my pain has reduced to 4-5 without meds. My entire chest cavity is a nagging kind of pain, breasts/incisions a burning pain. Pain aside, I feel amazing and already love my new boobs. I’ve maintained a decent activity level but am listening to my body a little better because I’ve overdone it the last couple days. Updated on 24 Jun 2019: Feel good and love the new bewbies already. I just wanted to share all the little details I obsess over as a worry wort in case any of you have or have insight for. I didn’t do much resting, lying around the last couple days. I worry could have caused some increased pain I’m having today, but I also have decreased pain meds to only when I wake and go to bed so maybe it’s just not managed as well. Same shape as to be expected. I’ve had slight warmth to both breasts since day one which is still present makes me worry about infection or bleeding. I have increase in tightness and a burning sensation to both breasts. Breastfeeding moms, it feels like super engorged breasts with clogged milk ducts! Pain of the chest cavity itself has subsided greatly. Bruising to top gone but I’ve noticed more bruising on the bottom outer breasts. I’m not allergic to latex or tape; however, my left breast had a very tender red, bumpy rash from the tape dressing I had which has gotten a bit more red :/. With swelling I noticed the curve of my left implant raising the skin from my sternum between my breasts, like home girl trying to cause uni boob or something! I wrapped a pressure dressing the natural size of the space between both breasts and around my shoulders in attempt to keep it from migrating more toward the center. I don’t follow up until this Friday, 4 days from now, so I am going to contact my surgeon in the morning with all the little findings that concern me. I still get fatigued and increased discomfort with exertion, which is good because it’s the only way I remember to really take it nice and easy. I’m impatiently looking forward to the settled results but the results I have now are amazing compared to my pre BA breasts! Updated on 2 Jul 2019: I didn’t have a before photo so I wanted to update with one. For you ladies on the fence about needing a lift, trust your surgeon. I’ve seen many similar breasts go both ways. I was so sure I would need one. My surgeon told me everything I needed to know about the results I would have with implant placement, no lift, final nipple placement, all the risks and benefits...but was confident he could give me the results I desired without a lift. He certainly did. Updated on 3 Jul 2019: Incision healing nicely, I love the shape and fullness, initially wanted higher nipple placement but as of right now I’m happy with them. I can do a nipple lift later if desired. Still cautious, some concerning risks: bottoming out of implant, hanging of implant from chest from skin stretching, contracture Updated on 12 Aug 2019: I have confidence to “wear” my new breasts. They feel natural and I can’t help but feel they completely flatter my entire figure. I imagine our surgeons want to punch us in the face when we post results before they show the true magic of their work, but I am so happy with myself and want to share my confidence and pleasure in my surgeon’s abilities all over the place!
If you are in the Columbus area please see Dr. Dorner and their staff.. Everybody there is very professional, friendly and willing to work with you on the needs that YOU have. I highly recommended them. Dr. Dorner, Angie, Lisa, Christine and Allie are wonderful... as is the front desk staff Updated on 15 Feb 2019: I just had the Halo/BBL. Very painful. I have had CO2 laser in past and this was just as painful. I recommend talking to your provider for comfort. The next two treatments my provider is going to help me get through it by giving me something to relax me. Very uncomfortable ):
He is amazing doctor...my case was complicated as my previous surgeon very very well know in Columbus has posters on airport ....did horrible job Thank u to dr Brian who took my case n fixed my issues...
Dr.Dorner is professional and his staff is friendly and polite. They’ve been accommodating with my long commute, which is a huge help for my family. I’m looking forward to my upcoming surgery, and thankfully have few reservations due to Dr. Dorner’s consult and pre-op. While consulting him, he’s very understanding and really listens to the patient. I love that I’ve found a doctor that has matched implants to fit my body.
Well, this answer is a little different. Regardless of whether you need an extended tummy tuck or not, I would be very apprehensive about going to a surgeon that says he will do one thing, then tells you at preop he may do something different. If he doesn't give you what you want, it will be too late after surgery. You need to be very honest and tell him exactly what you are expecting. If his answer doesn't make sense to you, then you should really reconsider choosing another surgeon. Perhaps put him on the spot, if he chooses to do less than you asked for, and you get a substandard result, what will he do to make it right (if he can)?
This is very hard to answer with an exam or photos. However, in my experience I’ve been able to close a full tummy regardless of torso length. I’m not a fan of a float because the belly button looks abnormal afterwards and is too low. If yours is too high, then maybe that would be okay. Make sure you review this very carefully with your surgeon and consider a second opinion.
Dynamic changes are more difficult to improve. However, for smile lines I have a couple recommendations. A facelift or laser resurfacing is one of your best options. This basically tightens the overlying skin so that when smiling there is less "bunching" of the skin. When younger, the elasticity of the skin retracts, making the smile lines less noticeable. As we age, skin acts more like a sheet than a rubber bank so it crinkles. If surgery isn't something you wish to undergo, I recommend Sculptra. This product is slightly firmer than other fillers once it has incorporated, and I find resists the deformation of smile lines better than other fillers. Softer fillers just tend to be pushed out of the way by the act of smiling. Hope this helps.
I see this question a lot. “I’ve had surgery, I think something’s wrong, what should I do.” I’m not sure where people are having surgery, but I always have my patient contact me with their smallest concerns to make sure they get excellent outcomes. The answer to this is always the same, contact your doctor, make an appointment to see him or her, and have the area addressed. It’s very difficult to make any assumptions without doing the surgery, or being able to examine you. So unfortunately, the answer is: maybe it will, maybe it won’t. If you chose a surgeon who refuses to see you and follow up, then you may need to find another surgeon in your area to help you out.
Yes, I do. I use them all the time in my practice and for most patients prefer them over the traditional smooth, round. However there are some particular patients who prefer the look of the round implant and even the newest highly cohesive round implants which give more upper breast fullness.
