I always had a dimple in my upper thigh since I was a teenager. 6 months ago, I had surgery and fat was taken on the outer thigh and around the butt. However, it "magnified" this thigh dimple. It almost seems like a fat pocket. You can compare my other leg looks normal. I've been researching into cellfina because it seems to tackle cellulite at the root of the problem, but would it help with this main big issue or should I do something else? I'm 24 and not overweight or been overweight.
Answer: Cellulite/Laxity -- Cellfina, Fat Transfer/Renuva, RF Tightening (ThermiRF, Venus Legacy, Exilis Ultra), Cellutone, Sculptra most of what you have is laxity that is making the cellulite look worse. Cellfina can help a small amount but the majority of what you need is skin tightening, lifting and filling/volume/fat etc. I suggest a proper evaluation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Cellfina for thigh dimple In addition to some left thigh laxity, I see several things in your pics. 1. You did a great job of using tangential light to bring out a dominant left thigh dimple which would definitively be released with Cellfina. While in general a provider needs to avoid the "banana roll" region, (the first few centimeters of the posterior thigh just below the inferior gluteal fold) using Cellfina, your dominant left thigh dimple is just lateral and at the lower aspect of this region and should respond well. 2. I would like to see additional views of your left thigh since it appears you have multiple other thigh and a small gluteal dimple, the latter is just at the lateral inferior gulteal fold. Cellfina can address these and soften your canvas. 3. In your left mid-posterior lateral thigh, you also clearly have a meandering posterior lateral thigh varicose vein which can create the appears of tiny pseudo-dimples. No one should try Cellfina on these pseudo-dimples from the varicose vein. Moreover, simple foam sclerotherapy of this vein may not be enough, as you would need an ultrasound to look for a common feeding vein called a "thigh perforator", which brings the venous pressure up from the deep system into the varicose vein. Additionally, a "vein of giacomini" (VOG) is another potential source vein which spirals up the inner thigh and possibly into the "banana roll" region. If you have an abnormal thigh perforator vein or VOG vein on ultrasound, simple foam sclerotherapy of the varicose vein itself may fail or other varicose veins would re-sprout over time due to the untreated and abnormal underlying thigh perforator or VOG. A venous incompetence ultrasound is the name of the office test you would need to figure this out.

Answer: Cellfina on thigh? Englewood Cliffs New Jersey Cellfinac may help your lateral thigh. However, it is my impression that Cellfina works best on the buttocks in areas where there is not much laxity. I prefer the new Profound cellulite treatment since it deposits elastic fibers, collagen and hyaluronic acid. It improves skin laxity where Cellfina simply performs a subscision. Answer: Cellfina Thank you for your photo. It appears that you have one to two discrete areas of dimpling which look like the skin is being tethered down. If that is the case, then cellfina would help to selectively release these areas. You also have larger areas of skin depression around the thigh. Cellfina will not help these areas which are more likely due to volume loss or skin laxity. Fat grafting may help restore some of the volume or smoothness particularly in the deeper hollow. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
