Getting a BBL, when do I see the final results? How long does it take to lose the possible 30% of fat that was transferred?

For most of my patients, I tell them that at 6 weeks there is still a great deal of swelling in the abdomen, sides, and back (or wherever the liposuction was performed);  and they will only look better in 6 months. Typically for my patients, I don’t have them sit for two weeks.  I then have them sit on a “donut” (soft round
pillow) for another month or so. It is best to try not to place pressure on the
recipient area to try to get as much fat to survive as possible. For bruising,
it usually subsides after about two weeks, but the swelling lasts longer. This
should be discussed in detail at the time of your consultation with a Plastic
Surgeon.

Thank you for your question. After a BBL, it will often take up to 6 months before you reach your final results. If your surgeon told you that only 30% of the fat will resorb, I think they are being extremely optimistic. I would not expect a 70% take if I were you. Follow the instructions of your surgeon and hope for the best, but this procedure can be unpredictable. Best of luck!
