To answer your question, what's the difference.... NOTHING!The american academy of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery (AAFPRS) Just conducted a survey of all it's members asking your exact question. Conclusion: There is no general consensus. It's different office to office or region to region. In general, the mini lift doesn't address the neck. This decreases the recovery as the neck area isn't operated on. There are incisions around the ear and the tissue under the skin is repositioned. Hope this helps and God Bless!Dr. Robb Jr.
FaceTite can internally tighten the skin in the lower face and neck. After all the skin has been heated and contracted, we shape the neck with liposuction to give definition and remove stubborn pockets of fat. In one quick treatment, we can tighten skin, remove fat, and contour the lower face, jawline, and jowls with only a weekend of downtime. Keep in mind that combination approaches will give you a more significant improvement as opposed to a single procedure. I recommend getting a consultation with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Unfortunately, there is a lot of confusion regarding the different types of facelifts. Some of this confusion is caused by plastic surgeons themselves, as we are not consistent in our terminology. Nevertheless, a facelift implies a procedure where the skin and underlying support tissue (the SMAS) is elevated and redraped. Perhaps the gold standard in facelifting procedures is the high SMAS procedure, a technique that is safe and effective at rejeuvenating the face. It also has a reputation of having a prolonged recovery, and attempts have been made minimize the incision and scope of the procedure. Minilifts of various sorts are minimal incision lifts and go by many names. Quicklift is a trademarked procedure that addresses the lower face, jawline and neck and is marketed through participating practices. Most surgeons offer a comparable procedure. Because of the confusing terminology, make sure you know what type and extent of facelift surgery your surgeon plans to perform.
Quicklift is/was an in-office procedure that tightens the jawline in order to rejuvenate the lower face. It typically is performed under local anesthesia and should include tightening of both the muscle layer (SMAS) and skin. By this definition, a Quicklift is basically the same as a Mini-Facelift. The "Quicklift" name is/was a marketing tool used by a parent company to advertise and drive clients to doctors associated with the Quicklift brand.Any potential patient seeking a minilift should seek a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon (Facial preferred, in my opinion) who performs a few of these every week in his/her practice.
This is a great question. In your consultation process you will see the differences of procedures by before and after pictures. Often, mid facelifts do not address necks and some surgeons sell that separate. Quicklift addresses both the lower face and neck.
It depends upon the surgeon. There are many types of lower facelifts: deep plane, smasectomy, smas plication, mini-incision, mini, weekend lift, lifestyle, short-scar, quick lift etc. I call my small incision facelifts mini-incision facelift. They take anywhere from 60-90 minutes. In my hands, they can also address sagging of the neck and neck liposuction can easily be done. Other adjuncts that can be done simultaneously is resurfacing of the skin with laser or radiofrequency. FaceTite can help with fatty jowls as well. Hope this helps. Ask your prospective surgeons for before and afters if not many on their websites and go somewhere with many positive reviews. Best regards.
Both are marketing term meant to entice people to believe they are not having a Facelift. My approach has always been to do what is necessary to give my patients the best possible natural result which will last for the longest period of time. If you have anything less than this for example a QuicLift or Mini Lift you will be unhappy. I perform 5-6 different types of Facelifts each customized to the individual patient. This is the key to a happy patient. Please visit my website for more insight ininto my approach and procedures. Michael Sullivan Columbus, Ohio
