How long can the Profound procedure last long term?

Hi Sheffield,The best answer to your question is that patients will look better for the rest of their lives compared to how they would have looked if they did not have the Profound RF procedure.  This is the same answer for facelifting and Ultherapy.  The results do vary depending on how individual patients respond and heal.  Most would say that you should continue to appreciate the benefits of Profound RF for about 5 years.  I just consulted with a single patient who had her treatment one year ago, she loves her results, has nice before and after photos, yet she is scheduling another treatment in about 3 months because of how much improvement she has seen.  These treatments are just "tools" that help with rejuvenation.  Many patients have just one treatment and are satisfied, others wish to have more.  Improvement after Profound RF continues for 6 to 9 months, therefore the earliest re-treatment is not before 6 to 12 months.  As with any facial aesthetic treatment it is essential to make sure that you choose your treating physician carefully based upon their skill, knowledge, results, experience, and most importantly their natural artistic vision.  Good luck and be well!!!

I tell my patients that results are permanent in the sense that your supply of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin  will be increased; however, this is not the fountain of you and you will continue to age. This is important and true for any procedure as each year we lose x% of collagen/ elastin/ HA a year, and this value goes up as we age. Basically, you will replenish some of what you lose but since you are constantly losing some, it will seem as thought the results are not permanent

I am an early adopter of the Profound RF device for skin tightening of the face and body. The duration of result will likely vary from one patient to the next depending on laxity of the skin, age, genetics, and other factors. I think it is early in the experience of the device to determine an accurate range of how long the treatment lasts. Similar to facelifts, it sets the clock back in time and the aging process continues.
