I had a chin implant put in 20 years ago that I’d like removed. Do I have to worry about erosion or something else? I think the implant was silicone but I’m not totally sure. It was put in in 1999. I just want to look like my old self again, without any implants. How can I find out ahead of surgery if there is erosion or other damage?

removal of chin implants is a high complication procedure because the connections of the skin muscle and bone have been altered. You look OK now,  and you may look worse after removal. In other words you will turn an issue that only you can see into something that everyone can see. If you must pursue it have someone with a lot of experience handle it. This is not a common request in my experience.
