Plasticsurgeons all have their specific instructions about the recovery process, and Iwould follow your surgeon's recommendations for exercising. At my practice inToronto, I generally tell my eyelid surgery patients to take it easy for thefirst 2 weeks after the procedure. It's important to do some light physicalactivity during this time to help the healing process, but strenuous exercisecould compromise the results or cause complications. After 2 weeks, I believeit is safe to return to the gym. Thanks for your question.
It is hard to give general recommendations, because it also depends on what kind of eye surgery we are talking about. For example, I don't recommend any physical activity after an upper lid blepharoplasty until sutures are removed, which takes a week. After that a patient can do something like yoga or pilates if there's no significant swelling or bruising and gradually increase the level of activity. Always consult your doctor about when you can go back to your normal work out schedule following your surgery.
In general, it is best to take it easy for a few weeks after eyelid surgery. I usually recommend holding off on the gym for about 3-4 weeks. Best to ask your surgeon.
Hi adg80,Thanks for your question. The answer depends on what type of eye surgery you've had. For blepharoplasties, ptosis repairs and soft tissue eyelid surgery in general, we recommend avoiding heavy physical activity for 2 weeks. At that point, we usually recommend that patients resume 50% of their usual routine for a week, then 75% for a week, then back to normal at a month. However, every patient and every procedure differs and so the recommendations may change. I would recommend you discuss this with your surgeon. Good luck!
I see no reason why you can't swim a week after chalazion excision. That said, it is always best for you to check with your doctor to get his/her opinion.
I'm sorry to read that you had disappointing results from fillers in the past. Nonetheless, I think it's possible that getting Restylane again will provide significantly different results than your first experience. It may be worth pursuing before getting lower blepharoplasty. However, as others...
This is not a medical emergency. This is most likely a congenital upper eyelid levator dehisence ptosis that has progressively worsened over a long period of time. This can be corrected with ptosis surgery. There are two approaches to ptosis: posterior or the conjunctival muellerectomy or an...
Standard, subtractive upper blepharoplasty will be the biggest mistake of your life. Your multiple posts about the same issues despite very sage advice by the big cutters of North America, suggests that you may have body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). That would be a condition where you have an e...
Thank you for your question and images. You look like a good candidate for an upper eyelid blepharoplasty and you may be eligible for a rebate if you have private health insurance. I agree that you do not require any fat removal and it is uncommon to do so with modern blepharoplasty techniques....
