Can I swim 1 week after my chalazion removal surgery?

I got a chalazion surgery and i going swimming next week. So, can i swim even if i put goggles and make sure that the chlorine doesnt toutch my eyes? Plus can i tan?

I see no reason why you can't swim a week after chalazion excision.  That said, it is always best for you to check with your doctor to get his/her opinion.

I would ask your surgeon if it is ok to go swimming.  1 week may be a little early after surgery, but again, I would defer to your surgeon.

Hi Raghad suboh, Thanks for your question. I would discuss this with your surgeon to be sure but we usually allow our patients to return to their normal physical activity by 1 week after a chalazion excision has been performed. If an incision was placed on the front of your eyelid, I would be careful with tanning as sun exposure may lead to a hyperpigmented scar.
