When can I sit on my butt after a bbl or does sitting on your butt kills the fat cells?

In general, patients who resume sitting too soon after a BBL are at increased risk of losing some of their transferred fat. I recommend not sitting on your butt for one week after fat transfer. After one week you can sit on a BBL pillow on your upper thighs. One month after surgery you can begin sitting normally. Good luck!

You should wait at least 2 weeks before sitting without a support cushion and sleeping on your back. Sitting with no support too soon can harm the newly moved fat cells.

Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him about your concerns and goals. I recommend my patients not to sit for more than 30 mins. every two hours, for the first 2 weeks, and always with the help of a boppy pillow. If you have any concerns, I suggest you follow up close with your plastic surgeon.
