I am having the BBL procedure done on 04/05/18 in Miami, I am wondering if anyone can give me any pointers on how I am to travel back on the plane from Miami to New Orleans without sitting on my butt. I know I need the Butt pillow, however the seats on the plane are really small and you will have to sit back in order to wear the seat belts. Can anyone suggest to me what to do in this situation?
Answer: Brazilian Butt Lift You should wait at least 2 weeks before sitting without a support cushion and sleeping on your back. Sitting with no support too soon can harm the newly moved fat cells.

Answer: AVOID TRAVELING AT LEAST THE FIRST 8 WEEKS AFTER SURGERY. Hello uniqu31, It’s a pleasure to answer my questions! In my experience, adequate post-operative care is vital to positively impact the final outcome. I would strongly suggest you avoid traveling at least the first 8 weeks after Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery, to minimize the risk for post-operative complications. Putting pressure on your butt by sitting down or laying on it, especially for long periods of time, can stiffen, deform and even cause the transplanted fat cells to reabsorb. In the case you can’t absolutely elude getting in a plane, I would recommend you sitting in a modified position, placing a bolster or rolled-up towel under the back of the thighs while sitting down, as to avoid significant pressure. Also, there is a variety of post BBL surgery support cushions available on the market. Moreover, your surgeon may prescribe you an anti-coagulant medication to prevent a deep venous thrombosis when you travel, especially for long flights. Good luck and may God bless you! Dr. De La Cruz.

Answer: How to sit on small plane seat to travel home after BBL procedure, advice? Recommend that you ask for your PS's opinion regarding sitting on a plane following BBL surgery. Every surgeon will have a different recommendation for the number of days to wait before flying depending upon your individual risk factors and the amount of surgery performed. You can obtain a letter from your PS requesting that the flight attendant allow you to stand when the seat belt sign is off, and walk the aisle every 30 minutes. Use your pillow to take pressure off the buttocks and place it under the thighs. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
