53 years old and considering C02 Laser or Morpheus8. Which is better for my age? (photos)

Fractional CO2 laser is an excellent tool for skin rejuvenation in our center in Santa Monica. We use the fractional multi-depth ablative approach to help resurface the skin, recontour acne scars, improve incisional plastic surgery scars, and reduce surface irregularities from skin tone to dark pigmentation. Our approach utilizes a multi-depth approach that targets melanocytes in the epidermis and collagen fibroblasts in the dermis. This approach can be combined with a TCA Peel in a process known as a sapphire peel. Fractional laser is excellent for acne scars and contour scars in the skin. Patients are advised to undergo skin protocols with Melarase creams before and after treatment to help reduce pigmentation. It really depends on what you are trying to treat. The Morpheus machine is meant to treat skin laxity and can help with the jowling and excess neck skin. It will not be as effective as a formal face and neck lift but can provide some effect. The CO2 laser will treat fine lines and wrinkles and will also treat mild dyschromia (or discoloration). In general, the CO2 laser can be though of as improving the quality of the skin, but the Morpheus machine can be thought of more as a skin tightening device.

I think CO2 laser resurfacing or Morpheus8 could both be beneficial to you. A CO2 resurfacing procedure could be done on the face but not the neck area. The immediate recovery time is about a week until the skin has healed, but there could still be some redness after this time. Morpheus8 could be done on the face and the neck but usually, 3 treatment sessions spaced over time produce the best results. The immediate recovery time is about 2 days. I normally space the treatments at least 6 weeks apart. Both CO2 laser and Morpeus8 can provide rejuvenation to the skin.

Thank you for the question and pictures. I believe based on you age and skin quality (description and pictures) you would benefit from a combination treatment with both CO2 and microneedling RF which can be done one after another during the same treatment. This will yield the best result. I do this often at my practice and get amazing results for my clients. But if you dont wich to do both you can start with the Morpheus (microneedling RF) which will help with the skin laxity, scars and improvement of texture.

Hello. Thanks for sharing your case. In my experience morpheus8 will help to remove the lower face stubborn fat to make it more defined, also helps tightening the skin of all your face and neck. That will require sessions but in 3 months you probably have the best results possible. CO2 resurfacing laser will only work in the outside layers, so it smooths perfectly your skin to remove scarring and mild to deep wrinkles as well. My suggestion will be doing both. Don't forget to set a plan with your aesthetic physician and have a good after care plan. Good luck.
