Why do I have rolls of skin on my neck when I've never been overweight? (photo)

I've had these skin rolls since I was a little girl and they have affected my life in the worst way. I've never been overweight and they don't slim down when I lose weight.

You need an in-person evaluation with a well-respected facial plastic surgeon who can assess your case and give you options that include customized treatment plans.

You do not have to be overweight to have excess subcutaneous fat in the neck. There may be a genetic component- take a look at your parents. Trying with cervical liposuction can reduce the amount of fatty ties and make the rolls you see less prominent.

Thank you for your question.  As others have stated neck rolls are usually hereditary.  Neck rolls may be improved with liposuction at often and neck lift is also required.

These are congenital rolls.  They will respond to liposuction quite well.   They are helped a little by the neck lift or neck lift part of a facelift.   The real correction is via neck liposuction.    I have had two patients in my career that have had this and both had a congenital basis.  Both problems were nicely solved via liposuction.
