Initial surgery-Nov. 2021 Mommy Makeover 6 months later revision surgery- for capsular contracture of RB and wedge resection. Problems: I hate my tummy tuck. The belly button has a circular scar. The integrity of the belly button is poor as loose skin hangs inside and if I am not mistaken it's rather low (it's giving butthole). The line that protrudes erect from my scar. May need laser therapy for lightening scars. This seems like poor cosmetic planing. Deeply upset. Is this fixable?
Answer: Abdomen Try micro-needling and laser for the scars. I would suggest starting with micro-needling to soft and thin the scars and avoid all sun exposure to those areas.

Answer: Revising Your Tummy Tuck Hi, thank you for your question regarding your concerns after your Mommy Makeover revision. I appreciate you sharing your history and photos. Regarding your belly button, you would benefit from an umbilical revision, also known as an umbilicoplasty. Currently, your belly button appears to be horizontally oriented when, ideally, it should be more vertical. Additionally, if you have excess loose skin inside the belly button, this can be removed by making an incision around the perimeter and excising the extra tissue to achieve a smoother, more natural appearance. The placement of your belly button appears to be relatively appropriate. The proper position is determined by the perpendicular intersection of two anatomical landmarks: a vertical line running from the xiphoid process (bottom of the sternum) to the center of the pubic region, and a horizontal line from the superior iliac crests (the top of the hip bones). Where these two lines meet typically marks the correct 6 o’clock position of the belly button. However, if your belly button is too low, it can be reoriented or entirely reconstructed if needed. Regarding the protruding scar above your incision, this could be due to excess scar tissue or tension during healing. If the ridge is firm, laser therapy may help soften and lighten it. However, if the raised scar is significant, a minor revision may be needed to flatten and refine the contour. I understand how frustrating this situation must be, especially after investing so much time and money into previous surgeries. The good news is that these concerns are correctable. I recommend consulting with an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in revision tummy tucks and umbilicoplasty to discuss the best approach for achieving your desired results. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck with your revision. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Revision on Mommy Makeover Dear aetenney88, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Scar revision You can consider scar revision to improve the appearance of the scars and to reshape the belly button. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon near you. The belly button area can be evaluated to determine if excess skin needs to be excised.

Answer: Tummy tuck results Dear aetenney, Your result looks to be within the possible realm of tummy tuck surgery. Your overall abdominal contours look to be good. What's missing for us in critically evaluating your result is your preop appearance. The umbilicus can probably be revised. Your scars may also benefit from revision. Return to your PS for a re-evaluation. Good luck!
