Hello all! I am posting with hopes to get some honest feedback. I am looking into getting a hair transplant to even out my hairline in the front. I want to fill in the area around my temples and thicken the front portion of my scalp. I am 28, and currently take finasteride 1mg & rogaine. Would it be ok to go ahead and "straighten" out my hairline, or would you all advise I wait? I have the opportunity to get the transplant in 2 weeks, so I would greatly appreciate any help!

Answer: Am I a candidate for a hair transplant At 28, with frontal recession, you are an excellent hair transplant candidate. You can see many of our patients like you on our gallery (see below) and see the before and after results with the number of grafts that got to get those results. There are hundreds of such patients there

Answer: Hair transplant candidate? Hair transplantation is a subjective cosmetic procedure. There are many clients that would be happy with the degree of hair loss that you have and there are many that this is devastating. It depends on your comfort zone. But if your question is if your a candidate for surgery, then yes you are. From looking at your pictures, you have genetic MPHL and you are a grade two to three on the Norwood Scale. your donor hair that is in the back of your head looks nice and dense, and you are a good candidate for surgery. If you want to rebuild your hairline, the temples, add density to the front, I suggest about 1500 to 2000 grafts. Each graft may have between 1-3 hairs and is placed in the recipient areas according to its size. If you do the ultra refined follicular unit, the hair units will be dense packed and will look very natural. However, since hair loss is progressive and you are young to minimize future hair loss of your native hair, you need to start a medical regiment or you will need additional surgery in the future.
