Great question, thank you! Microneedling is overall a very safe and effective procedure to help brighten and tighten your skin. The amount of redness after the procedure is often a result of how deep the treatment was. Also, depending on how easy someone bruises, this too can affect the hyperpigmentation after the treatment. You should not be afraid of microneedling. It is a very safe procedure. Some areas require the provider to penetrate deeper which can make the skin look darker. Perhaps there is a bruise under the skin also contributing to the darker color. Either way, your skin should recover just fine.
