Pubic hair loss after liposuction of mons - will it grow back?

Hair follicles are kind of funny.

They can sometimes withstand immense stress and other times can be extremely sensitive to stress.

Even things like having a fever has caused people to lose hair.

Typically once the stress on the hair follicle has subsided they usually come around.

Hairs grow in two different phases.

Stress can set all the hair follicles into a single uniform phase.

Liposuction typically doesn’t cause hair loss from what I have seen but I’m not surprised that it could happen.

You may have a predisposition for hair loss or simply hair follicles that are a little more sensitive.

It may be worthwhile getting a dermatology consultation to make sure there aren’t other factors.

Otherwise minoxidil is worthwhile trying. People claim Costco has the best prices.

My best guess is that hair loss would also return with enough time. 10 months is getting pretty close to that point where it may not return to normal if it hasn’t done so already.

I do think it’s worthwhile getting a dermatologists opinion on this. They tend to be a little more tuned into hair loss than plastic surgeons simply based on who comes to our offices and the inherent nature of our training.
