Thanks for your questions! VASER liposuction results will take up to six months to show. Plastic surgeons have different post-operative protocols to achieve the best surgery results, customized for every patient. I typically recommend my patients to wear specialized compression garments 24 hours a day, during 6 months, to help the skin contract smoothly to their new body’s contours. Since ill-fitting garments can lead to contour irregularities, I advise my patients about the correct method of using them, to limit folds and creases in the garments, and regularly check if they are worn properly. Based on your picture, I would recommend getting a minimum of ten lymphatic drainage massage sessions promptly to eliminate excess lymph fluid, alleviate swelling, and prevent complications such as seromas (fluid collection) and contour irregularities (indentations, ripples, fibrosis). hello Recovery is mostly base on the level of soreness or bruising that you may experience, however, most activity is unlikely to delay healing or create problems with recovery.  Many studies indicate that there is also less injury than the traditional liposuction method resulting in less pain, swelling and bruising.  Final results can be seen 2-4 months later as the swelling continues to diminish and contours become more defined.   These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. #bumps #post-op

These contour changes are due to posture and swelling.  I usually recommend atleast 4-6 weeks in some sort of compression garment to help with the swelling. At 2 weeks you will still have a lot of fluid shifts.  Lymphatic massages will definitely help and also help to prevent scar tissue formation.  I would recommend starting now. If you dont want to wear your compression garment, purchase a spanx for light compression.

Thank you for your question and photo.  Lumps and bumps, especially when sitting or laying certain ways can happen and massage is often helpful.  Wearing the garment for a few more weeks can also help combat the intermittent swelling that is going to happen with activity as you go about your day.  if concerned, always be sure to check in with your surgeon.Best of Luck, Dr. K.
