I had lipo (Vaser) to lower back, love handles and hips approx. 10 months ago. I continue to have purplish discoloration to me L side (flank and hip). My lower back also seems lumpy (not straight) around the center portion...is this normal at this stage? Thank you.
Answer: Vaser liposuction: 10 months post-op hello loveperpetualwiderness Many studies indicate that there is also less injury than the traditional liposuction method resulting in less pain, swelling and bruising. Final results can be seen 2-4 months later as the swelling continues to diminish and contours become more defined. These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. You should visit or contact your plastic surgeon about this concern. #post-op #swelling

Answer: This may be cutis marmorata-like condition, seen after superficial liposuction Hi,This can happen after superficial liposuction. VASER allows the surgeon to work in the superficial layer to get a more sculpted look. However the risks are increasing chance of unevenness and this mottled rash which resembles but is NOT cutis marmorata. The reassuring fact is that this usually settles within 1-2 years. Lots of massages such as MLD massages help.FYI, Vaser does not increase bleeding (in fact studies have shown the exact opposite). But, working in the superficial layer to create more sculpting does create more bleeding.

Answer: 10 months after lipo: is purple discoloration and unevenness normal? (Photos) This is a deep hemosiderin pigment deposit from lipo. I see it more frequently with the Vaser lipo than other lipo techniques. Due to the increased bleeding caused by the Vaser technology. If this long after the lipo and has not improved might try specialized external lasers to see if any lightening can occur.
