Is Juvederm Ultra Plus or Restylane Kysse softer in the lips?

Also, it’s very common for your lips to feel hard for the first week or two with new fillers, so this is likely a problem you’ll run into with any lip filler. To minimize swelling, try icing your lips each day. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a board-certified facial plastic surgeon if you decide to maintain your fillers in the future.

Hard lips for 2 weeks after injection is your inflammatory response to the filler and that can vary depending on the filler used. RHA fillers tend to have less inflammatory reactions than others. Juvederm Ultra is somewhere in the middle in term of inflammation for most people, but it can vary by individual. It is probably best to go with the filler that achieves your lip filling goals and ask for a short course of prednisone to decrease side effects.

Some people respond better to a particular type of filler. Overall any hyaluronic acid should give you your desired result if injected properly. Moreover, there are different factors that determine how to appropriately administer a filler.

You can help help prevent swelling with intermittent icing after the procedure and sleeping with your head elevated for a few days after the procedure.
