I am asking because I am having a breast reduction in 10 days. I was told the procedure would not interfere with the surgery, but I am concerned about the swelling/lumps. It does seem to be slowing reducing and only a little tender to pressure, but I would like to speed it up. Do I still ice, or switch to heat, massage, etc. I am not supposed to take ibuprofen since I am having surgery. Is there something else that is safe? Thanks!

Icing for the first 48 hours is best, it is very normal to have swelling an bruising 5 days post miraDry. You could continue to alternate heat and ice for the next few days. The lumpiness will still probably be there for your breast reduction but it shouldn't interfere with your ability to have the surgery. Just let your surgeon know that you had the procedure before the surgery.

Thanks for your question.   It is common to have swelling and a full feeling in the armpits for weeks after the treatment.  If you are very uncomfortable, have pain, redness or fever, definitely go back to your provider who did the MiraDry and be evaluated for cellulitis, but it is fairly unlikely that is the case if you followed the protocol they provided for you as far as post-care.  The treatment should not interfere with your upcoming surgery, but be sure and let your surgeon know how you are feeling and what you have had done. Hello,Thank you for your question. I would return to the provider to make sure that there is not an infection, cellulitis would be concerning and could cause a delay in surgery. Post residual swelling and side effects such as banding and nodules can last for a whole month after the procedure and should subside with massage. Please advise your surgeon you had this procedure done prior to going through with your breast reduction surgery. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your question.Your MiraDry procedure should not affect your breast reduction surgery.The swelling and bruising will settle, you can take Paracetamol if you need to and Arnica tablets and cream can also help.
