I have excessive sweating on my forehead, crown of head, and back of head. Is Miradry safe for this area -and will it have any side effects on my face?Is Miradry safe for this area -and will it have any side effects on my face?

MiraDry is a wonderful treatment, but it is only FDA approved for the underarm area. A popular treatment to help sweat in other problem areas is Botox or Dysport! It is less expensive than miraDry, but it will only last 4-6 months. Until a better solution is found, Botox or Dysport would be the best solution for you for now. Best of luck!

Miradry is FDA approved only for underarm sweating at this point.  It reduces sweating and odor by 82% creating very satisfied patients.  The company has not released any information on using Miradry on other areas as of yet.

Hi there! The miraDry® procedure is only approved for use of treatment of primary axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis. Unfortunately, it cannot be used to treat hyperhidrosis anywhere else on the body. I recommend giving botox a try to help control the sweating. Botox can be used in the forehead and scalp along with many other areas!

Hi there. Unfortunately, miraDry® is only approved for treating underarm sweating, so it should not be used on your face or hands. You could talk to an experienced provider about getting BOTOX® or Dysport® injections in these areas to help with sweating. Although the results will be temporary, these options could offer some relief while we wait for miraDry or other similar treatments to be approved for use in other areas.

Thank you for your question. MiraDry is currently only approved for the reduction of underarm sweat. I have had some patients who have stated that Botox/Dysport helps reduce the amount of forehead sweat they produce but there is no clinical evidence to prove whether or not this is accurate.
