Rhinoplasty vs. wisdom tooth removal?

It's just wishful thinking I'm sorry to say. There is no predictive value to your status after wisdom teeth removal as compared to after rhinoplasty. You will have swelling after rhinoplasty, guaranteed. The amount of swelling depends upon numerous factors including the approach, number of grafts, skin thickness, etc. Best of luck.

Rhinoplasty surgery and wisdom teeth removal are two completely separate operations. The amount of pain and discomfort after a rhinoplasty is usually fairly minimal and most patients only take a few pain pills in the first week or so after the procedure. Expect 2 weeks of bruising and swelling after the surgery. We do not place packing in the nose, so that makes it much less painful than physicians who do pack the nose

Rhinoplasty surgery is pretty easy to recover from; people do relatively well with this procedure. You wear a splint for a week, feel like you have a slight cold, no pain. Most of the swelling goes away in three weeks (any residual swelling could take up to a year). It could be easier to recover from a rhinoplasty than wisdom teeth removal, but not guaranteed. Removing your wisdom teeth should not have any impact on your rhinoplasty, but you will have swelling after your rhinoplasty.

One facial surgery does not necessarily correlate to another. It is wishful thinking that you will not have swelling and a considerable period of time after the rhinoplasty for its complete resolution.

Typically there is not much swelling after a well done Rhinoplasty so no need to worry. And by the way I doubt that swelling or lack of it after a tooth extraction is a great predictor for swelling after a Rhinoplasty or any other facial procedure.

Most patients experience little to no pain with Rhinoplasty/Septoplasty and Turbinate Reduction. If you experience a lot of pain, that means something is wrong, and you should contact your surgeon as soon as possible. You will have discomfort especially if your nose is packed, and this is expected. You will have swelling from surgery, but you can control the bruising and swelling by applying ice for 48 hours after surgery. Plus, your surgeon will give you meds to keep down swelling and bruising.
