I am 2.5 years post op. I only wanted the bottom half of my nose slimmed slightly and my tip lifted, however my nose now clearly dips, is much too small, and I've developed bony calluses near the top of my nose bridge. I did not have a good experience with my surgeon. What are my options now? And is it possible to form calluses like this when my nose was supposedly not broken? I did not want my bridge touched at all. I can tell my nose is still healing as it's swollen and tender.
Answer: Bony irregularities are much easier to see through thin skin after rhinoplasty surgery. Based on your before and after profile appearances, I believe you have a pleasing result. Most people are able to feel the difference between their right side and the left side after they have a pump removed. The issue is when it becomes visible with thin skin. In our experience, microdroplets Silikon 1000 injections may be considered for camouflaging bony edges that may become obvious after nasal surgery. I hope this is helpful, and thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr Joseph.

Answer: Rhinoplasty The irregularities on your bridge can be filed down pretty simply. I don’t think it’s callous formation. The irregularities appear minimal from the photos but if they bother you get a minor revision

Answer: Dr Paweł Szychta I'm sorry to hear about your experience. To address your concerns: - Consult a Plastic Surgeon, who specializes in revision rhinoplasty to assess and address issues like the dip, size reduction, and bony calluses on your nose.- Revision Rhinoplasty may be needed to correct structural problems. This can involve using cartilage grafts to rebuild areas and smoothing out any bony irregularities.- Non-Surgical Options like dermal fillers can temporarily mask minor imperfections but won't fix underlying structural issues.- Bony Calluses can form from bone manipulation during surgery, even if the nose wasn't broken.- Next Steps:Obtain your surgical records, prepare for a consultation with before-and-after photos, list your symptoms, and clearly define your goals.- Persistent Swelling and Tenderness after 2.5 years is uncommon and should be evaluated by a specialist.A thorough evaluation by an experienced surgeon will help determine the best approach to achieve your desired outcome.

Answer: Rhinoplasty concerns To get an assessment regarding the outcome of your procedure and potential revision surgery, you should collect a complete set of before and after pictures and get a copy of your operative report. Those are part of your medical record and are available from your current provider if you request them. After that schedule in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community. Bring All of the before and after pictures and copy of the operative report for a second opinion consultation. Look for plastic surgeon, specialize exclusively in rhinoplasty surgery, or who have rhinoplasty surgery as a major part of their practice. You can look for providers who are members of the rhinoplasty society. Why do you think you have scar tissue formation on the upper part of your nose? Maybe it’s the cartilaginous part of your nose that was reduced during your previous procedure? Your operative report should describe what was done previously. Without proper before and after pictures, we can’t really begin to make an assessment. It’s not a bad idea to consult with several plastic surgeons before selecting a provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
