if possible, i would like objective answers to this question: whether the age of a rhinoplasty surgeon matters ("too young" or "too old") as well as if the techniques they use are important / have an impact on the outcome of surgery. i am not sure whether it is important as the patient to understand the techniques used in rhinoplasty? do you believe there is an approximate ideal age range for surgeons? given years of experience and maybe physical/cognitive skill?
Answer: #rhinoplasty Hi Great question - and the best you could ask in my opinion. In my eyes rhinoplasty is the most difficult operation we do due to multiple factors - millimetres make a difference unlike most other operations. In addition every nose is different regardless of how they look preop. We also cant control how the bones, cartilage and soft tissue heals. Experience matters more in this operation than any other. It is not really about the age of the surgeon but more the experience as you definitely get better results over time. Regards Damien

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. I can say that your surgeon's age is not make any difference but surgeon's experience will make a big difference. You should choose your surgeon according to his/her successful surgery and how many years s/he has in this field. Also the technique will be decided by your surgeon due to you skin type, your wishes about your surgery etc. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. Best Regards!

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi @softgrass! Greeting from Beverly Hills, CA. This is an excellent question. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. The skill, artistry, and technique of the surgeon is more important than the age. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. I hope this was helpful!

Answer: Rhinoplasty: things to consider Thank you for your question. Since rhinoplasty is one of the most complex of all plastic surgery procedures, requiring experience, skill, and even artistry to achieve an optimal outcome, these characteristics are much more important than age when determining a surgeon’s capabilities. The techniques used are also an important factor and should be discussed with you in-depth before conducting surgery. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon, with expertise in rhinoplasty techniques. They will be able to answer any questions you may have and discuss their expertise and elected techniques with you prior to surgery.

Answer: SHOULD LOOK INTO TECHNIQUE AND EXPERIENCE Dear softgrass , Thankyou for your question. In my professional opinion you may benefit from closed atraumatic rhinoplasty which can address your concern in the least invasive way without cutting the tip of the nose. Additionally, your nose can be straightened and the tip can be reduced and defined and if you have any functional issues, they can also be addressed at the same time. Moreover, you may also look into facial rejuvenation surgeries alongside rhinoplasty surgery. However, the age does not matter as much as experience so you can say experience comes with age. Try looking at surgeons who have performed over 8000 surgeries and are actively teaching their methods as well. Best Regards, TAS TEAM

Answer: Rhinoplasty I do not feel that the age of the surgeon is a critical factor in almost any surgery. The person's experience can certainly play a role and that may come with age, but not in all circumstances. Meet with a couple surgeons and get their opinions on what you desire and if they feel they can achieve what you seek. Ask about experience and outcomes. You'll find one that you connect with in this exciting endeavor.
