if possible, i would like objective answers to this question: whether the age of a rhinoplasty surgeon matters ("too young" or "too old") as well as if the techniques they use are important / have an impact on the outcome of surgery. i am not sure whether it is important as the patient to understand the techniques used in rhinoplasty? do you believe there is an approximate ideal age range for surgeons? given years of experience and maybe physical/cognitive skill?

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. I can say that your surgeon's age is not make any difference but surgeon's experience will make a big difference. You should choose your surgeon according to his/her successful surgery and how many years s/he has in this field. Also the technique will be decided by your surgeon due to you skin type, your wishes about your surgery etc. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. The skill, artistry, and technique of the surgeon is more important than the age. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery. Piezosurgery is a more gentle technique that allows for greater precision. Less bruising and swelling is common with Piezosurgery. In a typical rhinoplasty, a hammer and chisel technique is performed leading to more inadvertent fractures. I hope this was helpful!

The person's experience can certainly play a role and that may come with age, but not in all circumstances. Meet with a couple surgeons and get their opinions on what you desire and if they feel they can achieve what you seek. Ask about experience and outcomes.
