I have a flat belly, I workout everyday and am in great shape.....however I have maybe 1/2 inch of loose skin ABOVE my belly button. I am not a fan of traditional tummy tuck so would a reverse tummy tuck be a better option for me?
Answer: Reverse Tummy Tuck attempts to reverse gravity... guess who wins
Hi there-
Because the concept of a reverse tummy tuck requires that the skin be pulled upward towards an incision under the breasts, the scars and transposed tissues are constantly fighting gravity, and are located in an area where scars under tension are often prone to thickening.
I would not recommend this procedure.
There are excellent alternatives, but to know which would be best for you would require a careful consultation and examination.

Answer: "Reverse tummy tuck" may be an option for upper abdomen
The reverse tummy tuck is a sort of upside down mini-abdominoplasty, in wich the skin is pulled up so the scar is along the fold at the bottom of the breasts.A traditional tummy tuck removes skin from the lower abdomen, and the upper abdominal skin is pulled down. With a full TT, the entire front of the abdomen is flattenned and tightened, with a mini only the lower abdomen is improved, and with a reverse only the upper abdomen is improved.

Answer: Reverse Tummy Tuck - Remove excess skin and fullness from Upper Abdomen - NO SCARS BETWEEN BREASTS!! A reverse tummy tuck can be an option for women as a treatment alone, or, more often, in conjunction with a mini lower tummy tuck. The reverse tummy tuck will remove excess skin and fullness from the upper abdomen. The scars are hidden in the crease underneath the breasts. There is no scar between the breasts. A consultation with a plastic surgeon specializing in all types of tummy tucks will help you determine if this surgery is right for you. Beforre and after images of everse upper tummy tucks (including close up photos of the scars) can be found on my website.

Answer: Reverse tummy tuck--when performed well--can be a great option for some
Hello,
Reverse abdominoplasty is a rarely performed procedure since most women have excess skin laxity below the belly button. When the laxity is primarily above the belly button a reverse abdominoplasty can be a good option. I order to prevent scar migration (the scar drift downward) quilting sutures should be performed. When done properly a reverse abdominoplasty can provide a very good result.
All the best,
Dr Remus Repta

Answer: You may benefit from mini tuck and floating umbilicu
Reverse tummy tuck is not good idea because of the pull on the breast and fold at the midline. You may benefit from mini tuck and floating the umbilicus. Please check my web site for examples.
