Can a cowlick be fixed by FUE?

Yes — it is possible and practical to correct a cowlick or unnatural hair direction after a previous transplant using selective FUE extraction and reimplantation.

In such cases, the surgeon identifies mis-angled grafts within the cowlick area and carefully removes them using micro-punch tools under magnification.
These extracted follicles can either be discarded (if the goal is thinning or reshaping) or reimplanted at the correct angle and direction for a smoother, more natural flow.

The key to success lies in:

Precise extraction (to avoid visible scarring),

Micro-slit implantation at the right depth and curvature, and

A surgeon experienced in hairline correction and directional design.

This type of corrective procedure is very effective for small, localized issues like misaligned hair whorls or unnatural hairline patterns — but it should be performed by a specialist with extensive repair experience.
