Hair can be transplanted into areas where hair has become miniaturized, this involves implanting new grafts between existing, weakened hairs to increase density.

While careful graft placement can be performed at a reputable clinic, it is important to understand that existing weak or miniaturized hairs are not removed to make way for new ones, instead, the transplant is done amidst the existing hair.

In this scenario, the already weakened, miniaturized hairs could suffer trauma induced damage during the procedure, potentially leading to hair loss.

Therefore, it is advisable to first initiate medical treatments such as minoxidil, finasteride, LLLT, or dermaroller therapy to strengthen the miniaturized hair. I recommend subsequently having a doctor evaluate your condition and undergoing a hair transplant if deemed necessary.

Yes, when doing hair transplantation, transplantation planning is made for the areas of the patient that experience shedding completely or partially. Sometimes, if there is enough space between the existing hair, and the existing hair is strong then transplantation can be done between. If there is existing hair in the planned area, but hair is miniaturized, then that hair is ignored and new hair follicles taken from the donor area are implanted in that area directly. You can also request an evaluation by sharing photos of the front, top, sides and nape of your hair to get a personalized observation.
