I received juvederm tear trough fillers 02/09/24 and have had a reoccurring issue happen 7 times since then. It will last between 3-7 days to clear up. I literally am down to using nothing but Vaseline for drynes on my face now. My tear trough will start burning and turn bright red with a chemical burn feeling out of nowhere. Then it will start peeling/ flaking. Never had issues until fillers and I have fillers in other areas of my face. Sent a friend there and she now has issues flaking/dryness
Answer: Burning under eyes I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing under the eyes. The symptoms you describe are not typical after tear trough filler and should be evaluated by your injector or a dermatologist. If needed you can have the filler dissolved.

Answer: Filler I would suggest removing the filler with enzymes and avoiding this type filler anywhere on your face or neck in the future. The one filler later you could try is Sculptra since it is a different composition and nature, but I would not try it around the eyes first.

Answer: Complications post under eye fillers It is possible whatever filler was placed into that space is now blocking your lymphatic drainage in that space and causing swelling and the other symptoms you have mentioned. It would be best to revisit your provider so they can properly assess. Ask them to dissolve the filler and wait to see if your symptoms resolve.

Answer: Managing Reoccurring Chemical Burn under eye Given the recurring nature of these symptoms and their persistence for over four months since the procedure, I recommend the following: 1. Schedule an immediate appointment for a comprehensive evaluation of the patient's symptoms and the affected area. This will help in determining whether the symptoms are related to the filler or possibly an allergic reaction. 2. Consider referral to a dermatologist for further evaluation, especially if the symptoms persist or worsen. 3. Discuss the possibility of hyaluronidase treatment to dissolve the filler, if it is deemed to be the cause of the recurring symptoms. 4. Continue avoiding any potential irritants and to use a gentle, hypoallergenic moisturizer instead of Vaseline, which can sometimes be occlusive. 5. Consider prescribing a topical steroid to help manage the inflammation and discomfort in the short term, pending further evaluation. 6. If the problem is not resolved or continues to recur, you should be advised about the potential risks and benefits of continuing with the fillers.
