How tight does the ace wrap have to be after the 1st 48 hrs? Doc said I can shower today!

In my opinion general support is all it is necessary after breast augmentation particularly for comfort. However the specific direction should be obtained from your own surgeon. I see no problem showering the day after breast augmentation.

It should be fine to shower the day after breast augmentation surgery. I generally ask my patients to buy a comfortable sports bra ahead of time and put that on after their shower. If you were instructed or prefer to replace the ace wrap I would recommend wrapping it snugly but not too tight. The purpose of the compression (whether from ace or sprts bra) is to control swelling. I have provided surgical bras at various times in my career and no longer do so because it is nearly impossible to find a bra that fits all-comers, so I find it works better for the patient to purchase what they like and what they will get some use out of in the future.
