If hair extensions are placed using only adhesive it's fine to leave them in. However, if the metal microbead technique is used, they should be removed. Metal can act as arc to the electrocautery used during surgery. Everywhere there is metal attached to the body, there is a chance of a spark or a burn. While it's not sure to happen, there's no guarantee it won't so it is best to remove them.
There is no reason to remove your hair extensions prior to your tummy tuck surgery. Good luck.
If your hair extensions are on your head, I don't see any reason why you would need to have them removed! (You might not be up for going to the hairdresser for a couple weeks following surgery, if that helps with the decision) Good luck!
Thank you for your question. The best thing to do is to discuss with your plastic surgeon and see what his/her recommendations are as well as the rules of the surgery center where the procedure will be performed. I don't see a reason to remove them but again, it is best to discuss with your surgeon. Best Wishes!
In surgery, during tummt tuck, that may take 2-4 hours, you will be in a supine position all that time. If the hair extensions are at the back of your head, you develop pressure ulceration and possible hair loss. My advice would be to remove them.

Hello ChristyInsurance will not cover tummy tuck to address underlying muscle problems. I would be leery of any physician who would offer to try to bill insurance for the repair while providing a tummy tuck. As diastasis recti repair is included with tummy tuck, such billing would be perceived ...
Return to light activity soon after surgery is important. Especially for active patients. By eight weeks the tissues are well healed. Intermittent pains along the scar and of the entire abdominal wall are not uncommon, especially after exercise. This is due to the...
Yhe incision has sutures holding the the skin together. What you are feeling are the deep sutures which usually will absorb, depending of the type of sutures used. Again, perfectly normal.
Yes it is “proper” to use non-dissolvable sutures. Sometimes this is done to avoid spreading of tissues such as areola after surgery. Unfortunately, these non-dissolvable sutures can be more problematic than dissolvable sutures. If you continue to experience problems that you...
