Is it possible to remove 5000 grafts of incorrectly placed hair and put them back correctly?

Once the hairs are in, it is very difficult to take out and re-implant even with the FUE method.  Any attempt to remove the implanted hairs with FUE will leave scarring.  It can also result in transection and a waste of the hair follicle (no growth).  You may look worse trying to remove the transplanted hair.  You may still have some options but it will not be perfect.

A small number could be removed 100-20, but not all. A small proportion of hairs would not survive this transfer process so in the end you would definitely have less density.

Yes, we often have patients want grafts re-oriented. Often this happens when an overzealous FUT procedure is done with over 4k grafts. With such large cases, it becomes hard to stay focused and prep that many sites. But, the fix is possible. However, it is not as easy and the success rate isnt as good. Often we do this in stages i.e we reorient some and home the new angles push down the others and thus dont risk all the grafts having to be reoriented. To do this, you have to do it via the FUE procedure.

iIf you were bald enough to have 5000 grafts, you may likely have used up most of your donor material. Perhaps you can find a FUE expert who can extract these hairs and regraft them. It would be expensive and time consuming.
