How Can I Reduce Swelling 7 Years After Rhinoplasty?

Most nasal swelling resolves within one month after rhinoplasty, while the final swelling takes at least one year to settle down. The nose will continue to change slowly with time, and plastic surgery does not stop the natural aging process. Swelling is not common 7 years after rhinoplasty, and may be related to allergies or other conditions. Only after a comprehensive evaluation can a plastic surgeon help determine appropriate options for you.

See an allergist since this may be an allergic reaction. Noses do not  swell from surgery 7 years later.

Swelling 7 years after rhinoplasty is very strange.  A good history may lead to the answer.  Do you have an implant or permanent sutures inside that may be irritated or infected?  Could not say without an exam.

It is pretty unusual for your nose to swell this long after surgery. I would think it has little to do with a nose procedure but something to do with allergies or sinus problems.  See my video.

Post-operative swelling will not continue to improve 7 years after surgery. You need to have a physical exam to rule out problems such as chronic sinus disease or allergies. Your consultant should also review the operative report from your rhinoplasty to see if synthetic implants or injections were used.
