Lumpiness and bumpy after neck lift and liposuction under chin 6 weeks post- Is this normal? When will it subside?

I am 52 years old had a neck lift and liposuction under my chin six weeks ago. Feel better thankfully but still have lumpiness/bumpy and swollen under chin and jawline area- I still have the tight and tingle feelings at times also, is this normal and just takes a few months to subside and get back to normal? My surgeon is Great maybe I’m just inpatient.

However, it is common and often recovers fully or fully enough that it is no longer bothersome. For many surgeries, one looks pretty good at 2 months. That is true with neck liposuction but there is commonly a lot of active healing going on. If you rub the area, it will feel lumpy and firm. In fact 8 weeks is normally when this effect is at its worse. After another month or so, the neck will return to its normal texture. The sensory changes can take a full 6 months or more to fully resolve.

Impatience is to be expected; you're simply excited to see the final results. Clearly you have swelling, which can last 3 to 6 months after your procedure. To accelerate the healing process, you should be on an after care protocol (hyperbaric oxygen, lymphatic massage), and you can try adding Venus Legacy or Exilis radiofrequency treatments. Thank you for your question. These are normal sensations 6 weeks after a necklift and liposuction. The bumps are likely from residual swelling or the absorbable stitches under the skin. As your skin heals, tingles and tightness are common.  It usually takes a few months for all of this to resolve and is not anything to be concerned about at this point.
