Itchy lips after fat grafting. Is this normal?

Hello. I had fat grafting to the face & lips two weeks ago. Today my lips are still big & are a bit itchy and hot feeling. Is this normal? Possibly part of the healing on the inside? Just nervous. Thank you kindly.

These take about 3-6 weeks to calm down.  If you are worried then diuretics and prednisone will help but its better to leave them be and settle on their own.  Best, Dr. Emer.

I suggest speaking to a physician and seeing them in person to see if you have a condition called hemifacial atrophy which would need a series of fillers/ fat / silicone treatment for improvement, or an implant may help.  A consultaiton is needed.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question and I appreciate your concern. Let me assure you that the swelling you are experiencing is quite common after a facial fat grafting procedure and can take a couple of weeks to subside. Keep in mind also that doctors tend to overfill a bit knowing a portion of the fat...

Simple answer to your question is yes. You can have repeated fat grafting to your face. It seems at six months period your swelling has subsided and now you're seeing the actual results. A second fat grafting would be a good option for you.
