Excessive walking after BBL, will it can adverse effects?

Question

I will be traveling to San Francisco at the end of May for three days to celebrate my wedding anniversary. I will be 5 weeks post op at that point. Will walking excessively (everyone walks in SF) have an adverse effect on my BBL? I would also like to be able to sit at a restaurant without a pillow. Will this be ok? Any suggestions to on how to stay comfortable and protect my results?

Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. Postoperatively, for our patients no specific position is indicated and we do not have any sitting restrictions.  The pressure caused by sitting is not sufficient to affect viability of the fat cells and so the postsurgical position depends basically on comfort and any other operations that have been performed. After a BBL the fat that survives is there permanently. Around 70% of fat that is grafted is typically expected to survive long term. We also put a little extra to account for loss of fat post operative, which is reabsorbed gradually by the body. Walking won't affect your results.

Dear SoCalcutie,in my opinion there shouldn't be no negative effect if you walk for a longer period of time, 5 weeks after a BBL.
