Definitely stop smoking! Smoking reduces circulation to the skin and impedes healing. While you should ideally stop smoking for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your BBL, you must NOT smoke for a minimum or 24 hours before and 24 hours after surgery.Kenneth B. Dear Gabbyveee, the patients should avoid smoking cigarettes and marijuana before and after the surgery. Smoking reduces the oxygen level in blood which is very important for survival of transferred fat tissue.I would suggest you to avoid smoking in the future. Thank you for your question. If you smoked weed in a small amount and did not smoke frequently it probably has had no effect whatsoever on your surgery. However, as a general rule, any kind of smoking is discouraged after surgery because it may affect circulation to the tissues and impair healing. I recommend you not continue to smoke any substance during your convalescence from surgery. Wishing you the best.
Hi Gabbyveee,As a general rule patients should avoid smoking cigarettes and marijuana before and after the surgery. The reason for this its that smoking reduces the oxygen level in blood which is very important for survival of transferred fat tissue. However in general cigarrettes will have a bigger negative impact on this issue. i can understand your worries, so try to avoid smoking.

Hi and thanks for the question. You should be just fine this far out from surgery. Typically the fat that is present at 12 weeks is there to stay and since you are almost 12 weeks out you shouldn't have any problems. Best of Luck - Dr Hardy...
