I typically perform Liposuction as an outpatient procedure, but we do have the ability to keep patients overnight in our licensed surgery center. We give medication for postop comfort and most patients can return to work between one and two weeks after their surgery, depending on their comfort level and the physical demands of their job. After surgery I will often use a lightweight support garment or an abdominal binder for a few weeks. Our practice has used peri-operative massage therapy for years and have found it to dramatically improve the recovery process for our patients. There is a lot of variability to the recovery period person-to-person and based on the amount and location of liposuction performed. In the trunk area, often the hips and lower abdomen will need additional massage (I call it your homework and our massage therapist teaches you how during her work with you). Most often, you will see results day 1, get swelling maximizing around week 2, and see your results starting to show at 6-12 weeks.Hope this helps,Nick Slenkovich MD
Thanks for the question. It’s too early to comment over the result. First couple of weeks after the surgery you can back to work and couple of weeks later your permanent recovery will start. It’s possible to see some major changes in Liposuction results till the end of 12 months recovery. I wish you all the best.
VASER HI DEF if done by a very well trained sculpting 4D contouring physician can take 10-14 days before going back to work and 3 months before seeing near final results. my patients cannot "work" for 7-10 days. i suggest you go to an expert to get the best outcome. Dr. Emer.
Hello 'alcala68', thanks for your question. Recovery from liposuction, as well as any procedure, varies from person to person due to multiple factors, including patient age, general health, comorbidities, history of smoking, the amount of liposuction performed and to which area(s), concomitant procedures, etc. Generally for liposuction, I recommend 1-2 weeks to go back to work and 4-6 weeks to get back to heavy exertional activities such as exercising and aggressive lifting/stretches. Hope that helps and be sure you get treated by a board-certified plastic surgeon!-Dr.92660
Hi and thanks for your question. It will depend on how much fat is removed but basically you will need at least 10 to 15 days of recovery to do almost all your regular duties except for excercise or lifting heavy things.Be sure to be seen by a board certified plastic surgeon.Best wishes.Dr. Milla
The recovery varies but usually I let my patients go back to everything except working out within a week and working out a little longer for it may increase your bruising! If I do high definition/six pack then it may take a bit longer to resume full activities!
Given your history and anatomy the answer to this question mostly depends on your specific desires. Another round of lipo will decrease the thickness of the available subcutaneous fat. Essentially this results in a smaller version of the current you. If your desire is to tighten skin and...
A few cortisone injections subcutaneously into the fibrous tissue should dissolve the scar tissue and improve the results nicely. They are always needed after seroma or hematoma treatments and work really well.
Based on your nicely post photos, I would recommend a combination of non-surgical and surgical at the same time. As for the dense fibrosis of the abdomen, best treatment is a combination of J plasma to release the fibrosis and possible FDA approved, fat graphs, ALLOCLAE in small doses or cc in...
