When it comes to safety and decreasing fat absorption after injection. Is it better to inject the highest amount of fat possible in one session or should one go through two or more sessions with conservative amounts injected? Thank you.
Answer: Brazalian Buttock Lift: Information Dear Ms.Formentera 1995, Thank you for your questions. Nothing substitutes for a personal evaluation, a review of your medical history/medications and a face to face discussion of your options. Unfortunately with out a exam of your tissues I can can only comment based solely your photos. However, hopefully you will find them helpful. Depending on your model photos we usually try to perform the grafting in one setting. Occasionally if there is fat absorption, your skin can't stretch to accomadate the amount fat desired or you decided to go larger a secondary procedure can be done. Remember it's always easier to add than have to go back and take away.Fat grafting is technique sensitive and is dependent on several variables, including but not limited to:a) harvestb) purification c) injection techniques d) areas injectede) genetics Thus a small amount of fat can go along way or in contrast a large amount may not give you the desird apperrance.Your potential donor areas include abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, back and armsIn addition to injecting fat into your buttock the buttock usually needs to be liposculped in some areas.I suggest the following:1)bring some photos of models buttock you desire.2)make several consultative appointments with Plastic Surgeons who are experienced and Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition ideally they are members of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery). I wish you my best and success, R. A. Hardesty, MD, FACSDiplomate and Certified by the Am. Bd. of Plastic Surgerywwwimagineplasticsurgery.com4646 Brockton AveRiverside, Ca 92506(951) 686-7600

Answer: Multiple rounds of bbl for high volume? While multiple rounds of fat grafting will allow for maximal fat survival, this is subjecting you to multiple surgeries with multiple anesthetics and recovery times.

Answer: Multiple Rounds of BBL for Higher Volume Hello and Great Question. I appreciate the time you are spending researching this procedure. My name is Dr. Matthew J. Nykiel. I am a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, a Fellowship Trained Cosmetic Surgeon, and a Butt Augmentation Specialist. Multiple rounds of fat grafting is normal if you are looking for a significantly larger sized butt or a significant shape change. I think this questions has two parts: 1) What determines the Limit of Fat Injection 2) And how/where is the additional fat coming from.Fat Transferred is limited by: How much fat is available for liposuction, How much Fat is Available after processing, and how much your skin will hold. Those are limits we have to listen to your body on. Where is the additional fat coming from: Is it coming from additional rounds of liposuction? If so, that is reasonable. Or is it coming from somewhere else? I ask because there are some centers that are "storing fat" in freezers and re-injecting that "stored fat". In these cases, there are significant concerns for Safety, Cleanliness and correct procedures being put in place.I hope that helps! Best of Luck! Matthew J. Answer: Multiple rounds of bbl for high volume? Thank you for your question. This is a great question and the answer is not that clear cut. Ideally, I personally like to transfer as much fat as possible in the first operation and maximally sculpt the torso. A BBL can look suboptimal if the rest of the body is not sculpted adequately. Sometimes this is not possible due to patient's anatomy and amount of fat that can be injected into the buttocks. Too much fat injected and creating very hard buttocks can lead to more swelling and greater fat loss due to increased turgid pressure in the tissues. Going back to collect fat from previously liposuctioned areas leads to diminishing returns the more sessions you do secondary to internal scarring. So the best results are achieved in one session, but occasionally an additional session is needed to further improve shape and projection. See a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in advanced body sculpting techniques for an in person consultation/evaluation. Good luck.

Answer: Double Brazilian In my personal opinion I believe patients are generally much better off having series of fat transfer procedures than one single large procedure. This of course varies from patient to patient and what it is trying to be achieved. I try to never attempt to put in more fat than the volume grafting into. In other words if I'm grafting into a butt cheek that is 1000 mL I would never attempt to put in more than 1000 mL. Grafting more than that leads to a higher percentage of fat reabsorption and becomes self-defeating. I recently did a Brazilian on them male to female transgender to patient. She had very little volume in a buttocks and a large torso. Doing the Brazilian in two stages six months apart gave what I think was her best potential outcome. There are many variables that need to be taken into consideration. One of them is where the fat is harvested from during the first procedure in order for the patient to not look disfigured until the second procedure is performed. In general I like to complete one area in regards to the liposuction and not really liposuction the same area for the second procedure. For example a typical double might consist of liposuction of the upper and lower abdomen with the transfer of that fat to the buttocks. 4 to 6 months later The hips waist and back would be treated with liposuction and that fat would be grafted as the second Brazilian. Find the right board certified plastic surgeon for you and he or she will come up with a strategy that will serve your needs best. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.
