Depending on the depth of treatment and temperature settings, ThermiTight can either melt fat or tighten the skin. If skin tightening is all that is needed then the treatment should be performed more superficially and at a lower temperature. This is why it's important that treatments be performed by an experienced physican. An in-person consultation and evaluation will be needed to determine if you are a suitable candidate for the treatment. Best wishes.
Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon
When ThermiTight is performed by an experienced, board-certified dermatologist, the treatment is highly effective in firming the skin without causing fat loss. A qualified doctor knows just how deeply to insert the probes to achieve the desired effect in the dermal tissue without affecting the subcutaneous fat below. I encourage you to schedule a consultation with a dermatologist in your area to find out if ThermiTight is the right treatment option for you.
I appreciate your concern but let me assure you this treatment is primarily designed for skin tightening and not fat reduction. The settings used to address skin laxity will not penetrate deeply enough to impact the fat cells beneath the dermal layers. Make sure you work with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist with extensive experience with the Thermi device to ensure an optimal outcome.
I appreciate your question. One of the greatest advantages of ThermiTight is that the device can be adjusted to customize your treatment to your specific desires. If you don’t want fat reduction, your provider should be able to adjust the machine settings to give you the outcome you want. I recommend working with a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist who has performed many ThermiTight procedures to ensure your procedure is both safe and successful.
ThermiTight is a terrific tool for rejuvenating the skin and eliminating fat, where needed. However, the settings for tightening and fat elimination are different. If the fat is targeted, the probe is placed more deeply and at a higher temperature. Skin tightening is achieved just under the skin’s surface at a lower temperature. If you want skin tightening alone, that’s what you’ll get — provided you are working with an experienced dermatologist. You need to spend time finding an expert so that you’ll get the outcome you desire. Please find a board-certified dermatologist to tighten your skin with ThermiTight.
Yes Thermitight can kill fat cell however this is done with a deeper level and a higher heat setting. Your surgeon has been trained to set the heat level and control the depth of treatment for skin tightening to avoid fat loss.
Thank you for your question. The answer is a little complicated, in that, ThermiTight can definitely be used to "melt" or destroy fat cells, if that is a goal of the procedure, but it can also be avoided, provided your surgeon is an experienced ThermiTight user. The beauty of ThermiTight is that we doctors can have very rigid control of the treatment temperature, since the probe tells us the internal temperature, while the infrared camera monitors temperature of the skin surface. The internal temperature can be set by the doctor, depending upon the desired result. For purely skin tightening, I would select lower heat than I would if I were also wanting to achieve some fat reduction and I would make sure to keep the internal probe immediately beneath the skin and not down into the fatty layer. Even with that, there is the possibility that a very small of fat can be damaged, but this is usually not noticeable. Similarly, any device that delivers heat to the fat layer can also inadvertently damage some fat cells, but again, this is usually negligible.
The amount of fat loss during skin tightening with ThermiTight is extremely small because the temperature settings for skin tightening are much lower than for fat reduction. Also, the depth at which the probe is placed is different for skin tightening vs fat reduction. Superficial for skin tightening, deeper for fat reduction. If done correctly, you should not lose any fat. Make sure you see an experienced board-certified physician. Good luck!
Hello, and thank you for your question. ThermiTight can melt fat or produce skin tightening only, depending on the needs of the patient. Talk to your board-certified plastic surgeon about your concerns and the type of treatment you want. In this case, good communication can help you get the best possible outcome and the results you wish to have. When selecting your surgeon, be sure to select one who has ample experience performing ThermiTight treatments and can show you before-and-after photos of previous patients successfully treated for skin tightening concerns and who can put you in touch with those patients. Raise all these concerns and questions with your board-certified plastic surgeon during your in-person consultation. Good luck!
