Is it possible for Juvederm Ultra Plus to migrate following injection to nasolabial folds? (Photo)

yesterday i was injected with 0.5ml of voluma to each of my cheeks laterally and 0.5ml of ultra plus to each side of my nasolabial fold. the injector did not want to put more in my cheeks, like i wanted and instead she reccomened placing the 2nd ml in my nasolabial folds however now i feel like my face is sagging, the filler feels very superficial and almost like its pooling around the corners of my mouth!! is it normal to inject filler so dar down to the mouth? i feel so self conscious!!!

This may be due to your filler placement, but it is unlikely that it migrated. It takes 1-2 weeks for final results. If you're unhappy with your results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase. I hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and I am sorry that your current results have caused you concern.  Most likely what you are seeing is swelling in the tissues in and around your mouth due to the injection sites. Rest assured these symptoms will all get better over the next 10 days.  It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural.  In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back.  You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements.  Hang in there!

I agree with you that the injection in nasolabial folds did not bring you desired results. It rarely does, however. The nasolabial folds remain the most commonly injected sites even though it hardly ever gives you any aesthetic improvements. Even if your nasoabial folds are completely flatten you are removing something that has nearly no impact on the overall facial beauty except for rare cases.Based on the photos you have provided, you would see the most dramatic change in the outline and shape if the filler was injected into the temples and in particular areas of your cheeks. The hollowing of the temples takes away approximately 1/3 of the upper face light and obscures the brow tail. It is exactly as when you paint the face on canvas where you are creating the light by highlighting the key elements of which temples play an important role in underscoring the youthfulness.Discuss your disappointment with your injector who should give you the reasons why one way is better than other. Never assume that your interpretation is less valid. Good luck!

Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs.  Filler is unlikely to migrate.  What you are experiencing is most likely normal postprocedure swelling.  Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result.  If you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action.  Hope this helps and best wishes!
