Can grafts fall out in the 5th-month post hair transplant?

It may take six to twelve months to appreciate the results of a hair transplant surgery.  If you are concerned it is best to contact your doctor.Grafts do not fall out after 5 months.

Thanks for posting your question on realself.com. İts common to see  post-op shedding at the first two Months. So if you see the transplanted hair shed in the 5th month you should visit your doctor.

Dear hairtranspnat,Thank you for posting you question on realself.com. Generally the transplanted hairs will shed a couple of weeks after the transplant. Some will see the hairs just start growing right away and skip the commonly seen post-op shedding. I see this more often with my patients doing a PRP session with the hair transplant. I have also seen cases where the transplanted hairs will grow and then be shed. This sounds like what you are going through. So now the clock starts. In about three or four months from shedding you will see the hairs grow again. It may take about a year to get a mature result - which means it may be close to 18 months for your final result. Alternatively, some patients may have the native hairs in the transplanted area shed. This could be Telogen effluvium (TE), it could also be the hairs being lost to genetic male pattern loss. Often it is difficult for patients to know which is which, especially when there is remaining hair in the recipient area. Hopefully you are local to your hair restoration surgeon so you can have a post-op evaluation.
